Bus Operator The New School (TNS) is a coeducational, independent school with more than 400 students from toddler age through high school. The school’s mission as an independent school is dedicated to inspiring a love of learning and empowering students to reach their potential for academic achievement, creativity and citizenship. The school’s curriculum is focused on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM). The School is seeking an experienced, full-time Bus Operator. The Bus Operator will drive a school bus on/off campus and will safely transport students to and from approved destinations for field trips, special events, etc. Responsibility includes DAILY route pickup and drop off to and from Rogers, AR. This position will perform a pre-operational safety maintenance checks, as well as accumulate and record bus log reports. Will maintain a clean and orderly bus. Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills Required: •

Must be at least 21 years of age



Must have a Class B commercial drivers license (CDL) with a passenger and school bus endorsement as well as Air Brake Certified



This position is subject to a pre-employment criminal & child maltreatment background, sex offender registry check, Motor Vehicle Registry check, drug screen, and must pass DOT physical.



Must possess a Bus Driver Certification Card



Annually driver must complete 3 hours of state required training and 3 hours district in-service at driver expense



Must be able to communicate effectively with staff and management



Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance.
