CALL FOR ARTISTS 7th Annual OLLI Art Show Saturday & Sunday, September 3 & 4, 2016 Lenox Town Hall
Submission deadline: Friday, August 12, 2016 OLLI at BCC members who create art – photography, painting, drawing, mixed media, and sculpture - are invited and encouraged to participate in our 7th Annual OLLI Art Show. The OLLI Art Show will be held in conjunction with OLLI‘s annual Silent Auction and Wine and Hors d’oeuvres Reception on Saturday, September 3, from 2 to 5pm at the historic Lenox Town Hall, in Lenox, Massachusetts. The art exhibition will also be open on Sunday, September 4, from 10am to 2pm. This is not a juried art show; and no prizes will be awarded. It is open exclusively to OLLI members, and work will be accepted on a first come, first served basis until there is no more room. The OLLI Art Show showcases the work of our many talented OLLI members to their fellow OLLI members, friends, and to the general Berkshire community, and to introduce the public at large to OLLI and its programs. The OLLI Art Show and Silent Auction will be promoted in local and regional media. All OLLI members will receive invitations. OLLI ART SHOW RULES: Acceptable art media includes: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, drawings, photography, sculpture, and mixed media. No craft media or jewelry, please. There is no entrance fee but all participants in the art show must be OLLI members. Artists may not show any work they submitted in previous OLLI Art Shows.
SALES: Participating artists are free to sell their work at the Art Show, if they wish; all sales transactions shall be between the artist and the buyer; no commission is taken by OLLI. OLLI at BCC will not handle the sale or be responsible for anything sold. The Lenox Town Hall has limited space; art show entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Once the space is filled, we will no longer accept additional works. You are encouraged to submit your entry form as soon as possible to secure your place. A maximum of 2 pieces of art per participant will be accepted. No one single framed piece can be larger than 30” x 40”. All hanging pieces must be framed, professionally presented, and ready for hanging. Plexiglas is preferred to glass. Work framed in glass is entered at your own risk. Screw eyes and wire must be securely attached to the back of the frame. Sculpture should not weigh more than 75 pounds each (artists should provide their own pedestal). HOW TO APPLY: Please fill out the Art Show Entry Form and Waiver Form. You may submit forms by mail: OLLI at BCC, 1350 West Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201-5786, or email:
[email protected]. Be certain to keep a copy of each Art Show Entry form you submit. You will need to affix this copy to your artwork. Since art display space is limited, all Art Show Entry and Waiver Forms will be dated as they are received at the OLLI office. We will continue to accept entries until all space is committed or until the submission deadline - August 12, 2016. ART DROP OFF AND PICK UP: Artworks must be delivered Friday, September 2 from 10am to 1pm at Lenox Town Hall to the OLLI Art Show Committee. Please securely affix a copy of your entry form to each piece. The placement and hanging of the art will be solely the responsibility of the OLLI Art Show Committee. All artwork must be picked up on Sunday, September 4, between 2 and 3pm at the Lenox Town Hall. Members of the Art Show Committee will be there to assist you. The City of Lenox and OLLI at BCC will not be responsible for loss or damage to any art submitted. The members of the receiving committee will exercise the utmost care in handling all submitted work.
