Welcome Cambodian Students, Thai Royal Scholarships On July 25th, CP All & PIM welcomed the Cambodian students from Thai Royal Scholarships. The meeting’s welcome speech was given by Ms. Tanarat Teeratanakiat – Deputy Director, The Office of the President. Introductions of the CP Group, CP ALL, PIM, and International Programs were discussed as well as the campus tour. These 7 scholars will be not only studying the 2 International Programs (2 in iMBA & 2 iMTM) but also 3 of them will be joining the Modern Trade Management in the Thai Program.

International Freshy Party On 28th July 2016, PIM hosted the first International Freshy Party at the CP All Academy building on the 14th Floor. The party was brilliantly hosted by our very own PIM & CP All executives: Mr. Atit Koirala – Marketing Manager, Office of the Organisation Communications, PIM and Ms. Nirada Jutagasut Section Manager, CP All Plc. The event started off with an Opening Speech by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sompop Manarungsan PIM President. He warmly welcomed the new presence of international students at PIM and the new upcoming batch of various international students for the two international programs (iMBA and iMTM). Afterwards, the students gave out a selfintroduction all dressed in their national costumes. To add, most attendees of this party also wore their national costumes. The wonderful evening was entertained by many performances from Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, and China. Almost all performances were conducted by the talented new upcoming batches of iMBA and iMTM students. The delightful evening ended with a Karaoke session for everyone. Furthermore, there was also the Best Outfit awarding ceremony of the best national costume International Freshy Party. Our very own iMBA student Ms. Edith Adhiambo of Kenya was awarded the best dressed female of the night and Mr. Riguen Uch of Cambodia was awarded the best dressed male of the night. Gifts of appreciation were handed out by Mr. Siam Chocksawangwong - Vice President for Administrative Affairs at the end of the successful fantastic event. July 2016 Issue

Business Talk Series 2:“Business Innovation” On July 28th, 2016, the second Business Talk Series on the topic of “Business Innovation” took place at PIM. This Business Talk Series 2’s guest speaker was Ms. Krobkeaw Panyarachun – Consultant, Thai Jintan Co. Ltd. The talk started off with a brief introduction of the company, followed by the role of innovation in the modern economy and innovation management. Since its founding in 1993, Thai Jintan Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Chumsang Group, has been the first and foremost distributor of Jintan products throughout Thailand and South-East Asia. The brand “Jintan” offers a variety of products, including Jintan Red & Silver Pills and Jintan Nude, and also other health and nutrition supplements. Based upon their business principal “Virtue before profit,” we have always placed customer’s health and wellbeing as their top priority. Ms. Panyarachun mentioned that to be innovative one must consider the consumer trends and the competitive landscapes before the improvement of existing products and starting a new campaign & packaging design. She highlighted that the “context of communication is key and a holistic plan of all the marketing stages” is a necessity to conduct successful business innovation. Students that participated in this Business Talk Series 2 enthusiastically asked plenty of related questions that will help them in their upcoming classes.

Myanmar Embassy Visit PIM The Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Bangkok visited PIM for the first time on July 14th 2016. The objective of the meeting was to introduce Myanmar Embassy of CP Group, CP All and the International Programs offered at PIM, and to meet the Myanmar students. Mr. Wunna Han - The Minister Counselor and Mr. Kyaw Thuya – Commercial Counselor were very impressed by the Institute and the potential of the students. Representative from CP Group Mr. Aung Din – Honorable Advisor, CP Group accompanied the Embassy as well. Ms. Parichart Buakao – Assistant to the President & Director of the Office of the Organization Communications conveyed a warm welcome note. The meeting was followed by a brief introduction of CP All by Ms. Shatshaya Kuwongbundit – Deputy Department Manager, CP All and a presentation by Mr. Saruj Pongpairoj – Assistant Section Manager, CP All. A fruitful discussion took place as the Minister Counselor provided much feedback on the presentations and showed immense concern for the Myanmar students. PIM mentioned how there will be more new International Programs in the coming years. Myanmar Embassy reciprocated by offering promotions to help in the future.

Trip to China

PIM’s Ms. Tanarat Teeratanakiat - Deputy Director, The Office of President and Ms. Yue Zhang - Officer Organization Communication attended the “International Roadshow Education Fair” in Kunming, China from July 9th to 12th, 2016. Royal Thai Consul, Kunming, China and the Office of Higher Education Commission, Thailand was the organizers of the event and participants from other universities in Thailand included: Chulalongkorn University, Thammasart University, Khun Kaen University, Burapha University, Mae Fah Luang University, Prince of Songkhla University, and Mahidol University, Rangsit University, Hat Yai University, and Huachiew Chalermprakiet University. A reception dinner on the first day of arrival was hosted by the Royal Thai Consul in Kunming, China. The second day of the trip, we attended the Education Fair at Green Lake Hotel. Day 3 of the trip was dedicated to the Education Forum and meeting with Prof. Na Jinhua President of Yunnan Minzu University where the international programs of PIM were presented in Chinese. Additionally, a booth outside and visited the incubation center at Yunnan University. PIM was given a campus tour by Mr. Yang Ling Secretary General to Communist Party at Yunnan University where PIM also in return left a token of appreciation by planting the PIM tree on their campus. On the following final day, a luncheon was hosted by the Royal Thai Consul in Kunming, China before the departure back to Thailand. Due to the visit, PIM was recognized in the XinXian Newspaper on the 13th of July 2016. July 2016 Issue

Other Activities

Myanmar Noble College On July 13th 2016, Myanmar Noble College visited PIM for the second time. Dr. Usanee Kulintornprasert – Director of the International Relations and Ms. Tanarat Teeratanakiat—Deputy Executive Director, The Office of President welcomed Ms. Thi Thi – Principal and Ms. Thet Zan Phyu - Marketing Director of Myanmar Noble College (MNC). A fruitful discussion took place as much in depth in how Myanmar Noble College can collaborate with PIM. MNC although an institution of only 5years they have acquired over 700 students and have two main campuses in Yangon and Pyin Oo Lwin. Future cooperation on short-term internship, teacher training, company visits, and joint programs with iMTM were discussed.

Booth at Open House

Booth at Seminar: Big Name, Big Bucks On July 1st 2016, the Thai MBA Program hosted a seminar named “Big Name, Big Bucks: Growth Strategies for Business Synergy (1+1>2).” The International Programs at PIM participated with a booth at the seminar held at the auditorium. The guest speaker was Mr. Marut Buranasattakhun. He mentioned the key to success in building a business Oishi Group and to keep challenging the company to win the loyalty of customers. The seminar was hosted by Ajarn Karuna of CP All. Both iMBA and iMTM programs seemed to be of much interest among the seminar visitors.
