Cambridge Police Honored by Middlesex District Attorney December 13, 2010 – On Thursday, December 9, 2010, the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office honored members of the Cambridge Police, Boston Police, State Police, State Police Crime Lab, Boston Crime Lab, and Middlesex Cyber Enforcement Unit with the Spotlight Award. The purpose of this award was to recognize an investigative team of law enforcement officers and ADAs for the successful and thorough investigation of complex crimes. The crime for which this honor was given was for the arrest of Marcos Colono. Colono was arrested in October for the brutal home invasion and rape which occurred on Pearl Street in Cambridge in late August. While recognizing the team for their hard work in this case, District Attorney Gerard Leone, Jr. said, “The investigative team in this case left no stone unturned…This case was a true team effort and really underscores collaboration.” Those recognized from the Cambridge Police Department were Lieutenant Steven Donahue, Sergeant Silverio Ferreira, Detective Daniel McNeill, Detective Beth Halloran, Detective Rob Lowe, and Detective Sarah Drewicz. ###
