Pioneer Experience at Blackberry Farm 

#thisisepic Epic Adventure Camps are hands-on, week-long adventures designed to get children ages 7 to 10 active this summer. Each camp week is led by experienced camp professionals to give your child a different experience that will create memories for a life time. Each camper will receive one Epic Adventure Camp T-shirt. Campers should bring a snack, refillable water bottle, swimsuit (for Sports Mania and Camp Atlantis) and a zero-waste lunch to camp each day. Week 1: Habitat Hunters at Red Oak Nature Center Hunt through the different habitats around Red Oak Nature Center to see what makes them so unique! Week 2: Pioneer Experience at Blackberry Farm Take a step back in time and experience what life was like for the pioneers by cooking over a fire, fishing, playing games of the past, and much more! Week 3: Sports Mania at Vaughan Athletic Center Experience a variety of sports and fitness classes taught by qualified instructors at the Vaughan Athletic Center. Week 4: Camp Atlantis at Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center Get wet and have fun at Phillips Park Family Aquatic Center.

#thebest ages 6 to 11 Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Summer Blast Camp is built on energy and enthusiasm, and children will enjoy memorable experiences that they’ll look forward to every day, including special event days and field trips. It’s a new adventure at every turn! Field trips may include visits to Blackberry Farm, Splash Country, Funway, Brookfield Zoo, Enchanted Castle, movie theatres and more. Children should bring a sack lunch, two snacks and a water bottle each day. Before- and after-care options are available at all locations for an extended camp day. by 40 acres of lush Red Oak Nature Center is surrounded setting for visitors forest and wildlife habitat – an ideal ough direct to learn about the great outdoors thr interaction with nature. EXTENDED DAY CAMPS

Survivor Series 

Please note: All Red Oak Extended Day campers must bring a snack, refillable water bottle and a zero-waste lunch each day.

Learn what it takes to survive if you were lost in the wilds of Illinois! Campers with little to no outdoor experience are encouraged to start at the basic level to learn simple shelter building, way finding, fire safety and problem solving skills. While each session builds on the lessons and activities from the previous week, campers are not required to have participated in earlier sessions, but activities will be accelerated to accommodate those that have. There are different schedules for each level. Masters Camp includes an overnight campout at Red Oak. Sign up for all three camps and save!(MG)

Choose one of four locations for fun activities such as sports, arts and crafts, small group games, reading time and field trips. Field trips, which will depart from each camp location, will include District water parks, Enchanted Castle and others (additional fee). A complete schedule will be available on the first day of camp. Registration forms will be available at each camp site or, you may pick up the forms ahead of time at any of our community centers starting March 19. Registration forms will be taken by the Fox Valley Park District playground staff starting the first day of the program at each playground site. Forms must be completed and submitted on the first day camper attends. Registration is ongoing at the playground sites through the duration of the program. To participate, a waiver form and registration card is required. (CJ)

Expose children to a variety of art mediums and team building games in their own back yards. Children will have many opportunities to draw, paint, craft and create. A waiver form needs to be completed before a child can participate in the program, and are available at neighborhood art sites starting the first day of the program. Volleyball

Swimtastic Summer 

Introduce children to basic cheer and tumbling skills. Cheer camp will ensure that each camper will learn cheers, voice projection, proper hand and body movements, as well as jumping techniques. Our focus on fun while each cheerleader learns the fundamentals of cheerleading. (AN)

Focus on proper technique and skills used in grade school through high school. Instruction will include court movement, footwork, passing, underhand and overhand serving, setting, hitting and blocking. Skills are relevant to grade level and player experience. This camp is taught by Cyclones Volleyball staff. (MK)

Build swimming skills and overall confidence in the water, working on swim strokes and drills. Learn basic emergency response skills through a Junior Lifeguarding program that includes water rescues and CPR. Receive a certificate of participation for both swim lessons and Junior Lifeguarding. Movie Making 101 - Making your Own Harry Potter Movie What’s the next adventure for Harry Potter, Ron and Hermione? It’s up to you! Create your own Harry Potter movie using special movie-making cameras and software. As directors and producers, work in teams to create a story and script, build scenes out of LEGO, use LEGO Harry Potter minifigures as characters and film a movie. Use graphic editing techniques and stop motion animation, add background noise and music and show the movie at a private screening on the last day of class.
