Introduction

I

Overview In the Spring of 2016, James Madison University began the process of providing an update to the 2008 Comprehensive Campus Master Plan. The goal of the master plan update is to provide a framework for campus growth through the year 2027 by creating sites for new buildings, while enhancing the overall organization and character of the James Madison University campus. The plan also identifies early improvements to help sustain the momentum of JMU’s recent growth. These suggestions and improvements should help maintain and develop a specific sense of place reflective of JMU’s heritage while blending visually pleasing elements with functional realities.
