Can you be a Keeper of the Moon?

Museum of the Moon is a new touring artwork by Bristol based artist Luke Jerram. At least 18 volunteers are required to help man this new artwork Museum of the Moon at the Bristol Balloon Fiesta. Measuring seven metres in diameter, the inflated moon features 120dpi detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. At an approximate scale of 1:500,000, each centimetre of the internally lit spherical sculpture represents 5km of the moon’s surface. The installation is a fusion of lunar imagery, moonlight and surround sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer Dan Jones. www.my-moon.org Duties will involve:  

Welcoming visitors, guiding them to deckchairs at the base of the moon , where they will sit and listen to a new 20minute lunar composition. Answering any questions people may have about the artwork. (an information stand will be displayed for everything they might ask anyway)

To Bring Wear sensible outdoor clothes and footwear. Bring snacks and an umbrella just in case it’s too sunny or rainy. Bring your phone in case you need to contact Luke about anything. Luke will be onsite throughout the weekend.

Where to find the Moon….. Best to get there on foot or by bike, as traffic and parking can be really tricky.
