MREAL DISPLAY MD-10

THE MREAL EXPERIENCE VISUALIZATION TOOL FOR ENTERPRISE The Canon MREAL System for Mixed Reality empowers professionals to bring their 3-D models to life as if they were real objects—viewing them in a real-world context, at realistic size and scale. When immersed in the MREAL system, viewers can see their real environment, each other, and important tools directly alongside the virtual images. The result is a powerful immersive experience to help capture new insights. With the introduction of the next-generation technology, Canon’s MREAL Display MD-10 offers new capabilities, including an expanded field of view and higher resolution, to help enterprises see the future of business innovation. Over 60 global corporations leverage the MREAL system across a range of fields.

Simulate Training for High-Risk Tasks Simulate training in normally dangerous or inaccessible environments for increased learning and retention.

Enhance Communication and Collaboration Inspire your team, as each user enjoys his or her own, first-person perspective and the ability to see and interact with one another within the scene.

CAPTURE NEW INSIGHTS WITH MREAL

THE MREAL DISPLAY The MREAL Display MD-10 is the core of the Mixed Reality experience, immersing the user in life-like visualization. Ergonomically designed for comfort, the display features two stereoscopic cameras that capture video of the real world and two additional registration cameras that capture key positional tracking information. Now with interchangeable form factors, users can easily convert the MD-10 Display from a hands-free to hand-held configuration, which is ideal for short viewing sessions. Built-in buttons can be programmed to give the user greater control over key commands while remaining fully engaged in the Mixed Reality experience.

HIGH RESOLUTION, HIGH IMPACT MREAL Display MD-10 offers enhanced resolution, enabling viewers to see the real world as a clear and vibrant image. Powered by advanced auto-exposure techniques and improved white balance functions, intricate details, such as small text, become core to the experience for a truly impactful visualization.

UNMASKING KEY INSIGHTS Canon’s newly enhanced color masking features enable real objects to be viewed accurately and precisely within the scene. This empowers users to intuitively use their own hands and real-world tools to help verify designs and mimic how a future customer might interact with a yet-to-be-built product. A highly collaborative experience, MREAL enables multiple people to immerse in the same scene, each with their own unique perspective.

IMMERSIVE AND INTERACTIVE With MREAL, 3-D models come to life as fully immersive, 360-degree experiences. Data leaps off a flat computer screen to be explored—at real scale, from all angles—as if it were really there. Users can interact with complex prototypes, designs, and concepts in real time, seeing both actual and virtual objects seamlessly combined in stunning detail.

EXPAND YOUR FIELD OF VIEW Ever innovative, the MD-10 Display now offers an expanded field of view of 68º degrees (60º horizontally x 40º vertically). This broader perspective enables users to absorb more of the scene as they experience the visualization. The added field of view also allows for the inclusion of important peripheral objects, thus allowing for a deeper immersion in the experience.

SIMULATIONS IN A SAFE AND CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT

MREAL IN YOUR WORKFLOW Created with the enterprise in mind, the MREAL System can integrate into many specialized workflows of global corporations. Plug-Ins for MREAL The MREAL System supports a series of direct plug-ins to third-party applications such as 3DEXCITE DELTAGEN and Unity. With an easy-to-use interface embedded directly within the native application, plug-ins enable 3-D models to transition into Mixed Reality with the same specifications, animations, and precision, just as they were originally designed.

ENTERPRISE WORKFLOW. ENTERPRISE SOLUTION.

MIXED REALITY: HOW IT WORKS The MREAL System is comprised of a hardware-software combination that brings together four main steps to power the Mixed Reality experience.

1. As the viewer looks through the display, MREAL captures video of the realworld environment.

2. The video feed is sent to a computer to the MREAL Platform Software, which interfaces with positional tracking technologies* to

3. Plug-ins to leading software applications and viewing software bring customers’ existing 3-D data files to life in MREAL.

4. The video feed is combined with virtual images then shown back through the MREAL display in realistic, detailed, life-size scale.

render the images accurately and precisely in real space. * The MREAL System is compatible with a range of tracking options, including markers, optical cameras, and magnetic sensors.
