So incident rates prior to 2009 are due largely to the increased availability of information. However there is an unmistakable increase in incidents. Prior to 1963 there had never been a mass murder (4 or more dead from any one attack) associated with a faith-based property. Charleston SC (6/17/2015) was the 13th such attack since 9/15/1963 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 Crimes are alleged, attackers innocent till proven guilty.

Where attacks occurred by denomination While there are many branches of "Baptist" (as 1 example), there has been no attempt to clarify specific branches of that or other major denominations. While the "Church of God" may be different from "COGIC", they are in the same category (as another example). I apologize for any offense some may have with such groupings; the intent is to track the frequency of deadly force incidents at faith-based ministries.
