Overview: Agile off-guard with a scorer’s mentality; slashes and attacks, finishes in traffic; green-light offensive game, scores off the bounce, at the arc. Carlie has a definite scorer’s mentality, and she is one of the elite players in this Class of 2014. She is a prolific scorer in and should bring that to college, which will offer the Gophers additional scoring punch in the backcourt. She can handle the ball in transition. Has opportunity to step right in as a freshman. Carlie is definitely the marquee player among Minnesota’s class. (Dan Olson) It would be difficult not to notice talented 2014 guard Carlie Wagner. The guard has the ballhandling skills that allow her to create and improve offensive opportunities at will. Her use of both a change of speed and direction brings defenders out of their stance time and again, while the scoring ability is there to make them pay dearly for doing so. She can get all the way to the rim, but is just as comfortable with the pull-up and more than willing to give it up for a teammate’s better look.
