As the Leader of the Lib Dems at City Hall I see first hand the problems that people face: expensive and unreliable public transport, fear of violent crime and the lack of affordable housing. But I also want to see a London that welcomes and supports families - a London that works for everyone. We need a strong, unified campaign for London Mayor and the London Assembly. I want to lead the campaign for the Mayor and Assembly and bring the Lib Dem Fightback to London! Caroline

Caroline Pidgeon’s plan for London

Reliable Transport

More Housing

London’s public transport must be more flexible to suit modern working and living patterns.

Boris has failed to deliver the homes that Londoners so desperately need.

I’ve long campaigned for a one-hour bus ticket, a part time travelcard and and cheaper “early-bird” fares.

I want London’s Olympic Precept turned into a Housing Levy to start a home-building revolution.

We need to see safer cycling, accessible stations and reliable tube and train services.

We must also do more to tackle empty properties and help protect those renting privately.

Lower Crime

Supporting Families

London’s community policing has been cut, police stations have closed and now violent crime is rising.

Too many Londoners feel pressured to move out once they start a family and this has to change.

Knife crime is a problem across London and parents fear for the safety of their families.

One big problem is London's limited and unaffordable childcare. We need better support for working parents including more wrap around and school holiday childcare as well as flexible working.

I want to see a return to proper community policing and a focus on reducing violent crime.
