In Person Auditions (Portsmouth NH): September 6 Call Backs (in person, Portsmouth NH): September 13 Shooting Starts: October 17 Shooting Ends: October 19 Virtual Audition Guidelines: Please choose an audition script of your own, paying attention to genre and the character you are auditioning for. You can use something original, or something already produced. If already produced, make it your own. Don’t try to duplicate. Upload videos to youtube, vimeo, etc and send a link to Jeremy and Ken via the email addresses above. You may also send a link to download the video directly from a server, dropbox, or similar service. Include a brief bio, filmography (if any) and contact information. Production Goals: The Owl, written by bestselling author, Jeremy Robinson, will make the rounds at several large festivals, granting exposure to all involved. It will not only be a calling card for the actors and directors, but may also be a potential launching point for a feature length film.

Synopsis: The Owl is a horror short film following two men’s search for a girl gone missing—or taken—in the dark woods of New Hampshire, where something inhuman lurks. Character BIOS AMANDA - Female - Age 10 - 14 Amanda is a typical young woman who experiences a full range of emotion, from wonderment to abject horror. She’s on her own in the woods, which appear both magical and full of potential evil. HEATHER - Female - Age 35 - 45 Heather is the worried mother of Amanda. She desperately, and concisely, appeals for the rescue of her missing daughter. She is attractive and on the cusp of starting a relationship with George. GEORGE - Male - 40 - 50 Father of Chris and interested in Heather, George is a responsible, upstanding man full of nobility and New England gumption . He and Chris set out on a quest to find Amanda, who is missing. He’s strong and fit. Owns a small construction company. Must be capable of stern seriousness and abject fear. CHRIS - Male - 20 - 25 Chris is like a thinner, younger version of George, but with a crafty smile and a sense of humor. He’s looser than his father. Casual. A trace of mischief, but at the core, his father’s son. He’s fit, and fast, capable of running at great speed, with Tom Cruise-like passion. Emotional range is from casual, sarcastic humor to abject fear. About the Directors Kenneth Dodge is the Telley award-winning director and editor behind scores of commercials and online promotional videos for clients such as DTS, Sony, Carl's Jr., Mazda, Konami, The U.S. Army, ZICO and NBC/Universal. His sixteen years of professional experience, working with a range of budgets, has given him exceptional skill behind the camera as well as in the editor's chair, enabling him to fully execute his vision. Dodge began his film career at the age of 16, using his sister's VHS camera, filming dance recitals, hundreds of "film-school" shorts (that no one will ever see) and finally receiving a BA in film from Emerson College.
