Cordoba is a city for strolling. It is a pleasure to walk through the maze of the old town, where the Mezquita is located in its center. With its gorgeous, red-yellow arches the Mezquita is one of the most sublime Islamic monuments. Or you stroll through the narrow streets of the Judería (the former Jewish quarter) with its little squares and flower-filled patios. The Medina Azahara is also worth visiting, it is the most impressive archaeological site of Andalusia approximately 8 km west of Córdoba. It was built between 936 and 945 by Abd ar-Raman III. The excavations have so far opened only 1/10 of the site.

From here we explore the Extremadura region, one of the last miracles of nature in Europe. The Ibero-Celtic settlement was founded in about 54 BC by the Romans under the name of Norba Caesarina. In 1165 the city was made an independent principality by Geraldo the Fearless, a Portuguese adventurer.. Alfonso IX. finally prevailed in 1229, and took the city for the Kingdom of León. Besides Istanbul, the Aljibe in Caceres is the largest rock-carved cistern in the world. In 1986 Caceres received the status of a UNESCO World Heritage site. ALCOCER (EL CID) Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, el Cid, was a Castilian knight from the time of the Reconquista and a Spanish national hero. Just as the fabled Atlantis was never found, this place was discovered in the 80‘s to be was one of the sites of the „Cidliedes“ the tradition of passing on stories by song. MONFRAGÜE NATURE PARK Monfragüe was made the 14th National Park of Spain in 2007, and the first in the region of Extremadura. The park is particularly well known because of the many large birds of prey which nest there. The park houses the largest colony of monk vultures in Europe. In this park you can observe the Spanish imperial eagle, black stork, griffon vulture, eagle owl, golden eagle and Bonelli‘s eagle.

mountains and sea. In the region of Andalucia you will find some of the best biking roads around, fantastic mountain passes and costal roads are begging to be explored. No matter if it’s the Sierra Nevada, Sierra de Chaparral, Sierra de Contraviesa, Sierra Tejada, Sierra de Gator or the Alpujaras they all have one thing in common, they all seem like they are tailor made for motorcyclists. Time and time again we will be reminded of the Moorish culture which is still evidently present in this part of Andalusia.

The vegetation here is unique because the climate is dry and very warm by European standards (2,900 hours of sun per year), and the area has the status of a Biosphere Reserve. The Cabo de Gata has a rocky coastline and is bordered by mountains in the hinterland. The-geological origin lies in strong volcanic activity in the region. Along the beaches between San Jose and the two eponymous capes you can clearly see where lava has flowed into the sea. DESERT OF TABERNAS Did you realise that Europe’s only desert is in Andalucía? Clint Eastwood, Peter O’Toole and Harrison Ford certainly know this. Spaghetti westerns were so called because director Sergio Leone was Italian, but perhaps they should have been named paella westerns because several were filmed in Almería – in the Desert of Tabernas, to be precise. The “badlands” of Spain proved an ideal bodydouble for America’s Wild West in such movies as For A Few Dollars More, which starred a young Mr Eastwood. At 214,300 ha, the „Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas“ natural park in the northeast of the province of Jaén, is the largest reserve in Andalusia. It is most famous for its enormous forests - these trees are the ones which supplied the wood for the Spanish Armada. The Río Guadalquivir has its source in this part of the Baetic Cordillera mountains. It runs through a broad valley and collects in the Tranco reservior. On the other hand its tributaries, such as the Río Borosa for example, have often cut deep ravines into the mountains, which increase the scenic beauty of these Sierras enormously.

Our trip goes over Sierra Morena towards the mountains of the Serra Estrella. Here we find the highest mountains of Portugals, where we will spend an extra day before we travel further towards the most westerly point in Europe, the Cabo de Roca. In Lisbon we take another restday to explore this fascinating metropole. Our tour will go on along the Atlantic to Sagres before returning via Aracena and Seville to the starting point of our tour. The tour offers complete motorcycling pleasure on winding mountain and country roads. The roads throughout the entire route are asphalted.

Erg Chebbi According to legend Erg Chebbi, one of the largest sand dune areas in Morocco, was created as a punishment from the Gods to the locals for not offering assistance to a travel weary caravan. The 22 km long and 5 km wide dune belt lies about 40 km south of Erfoud and is the southernmost point on our tour. The starry night sky in the desert will be a life long memory for you.

The Alps are the goal by definition of all the ones that are bikers at heart. You explore the legendary routes of the highest and most beautiful mountain passes of 5 alpine countries in 10 days on this unique motorcycle tour in the center of Europe. The tour starts and ends in the capital of Bavaria at the headquarter of BMW in Munich. From there you ride to Salzburg, hometown of Mozart, to get the culture rolling. On the highest mountain roads of Austria you cross the Alps at Grossglockner Mountain to arrive at Cortina d’Ampezzo, the center of the breathtaking Dolomites. You relax one day at beautiful Meran in Northern Italy to get ready to

conquer the most fascinating mountain pass that exists in the Alps: the Stelvio at 2,750 meters of altitude. From there you continue through the Swiss Alps before you finally arrive at Tyrol. Here you enjoy some of the best biker routes of Europe and visit a good selection of the notable monuments of the region as the Swarovski World in Innsbruck or the castle of Neuschwanstein.

The Dolomites are like no other mountains in Europe. They consist of thick layers of the mineral ‘Dolomite’, akin to limestone, originally deposited on the floor of an ancient sea. The Dolomite peaks are gigantic, chiselled monuments to the powerful forces of glacial erosion. Continuous sheer cliffs flank most of the peaks. They are amongst the most striking of all European mountains, coloured in weathered hues of rose, yellow, white and grey and rising in steep spires of fantastic form. Silvretta Bielerhöhe - High-Alpine Road The Silvretta High-Alpine Road is considered to be one of the most beautiful and popular panoramic roads in the Alps. It is 22.3 km long and runs from Partenen in the Montafon (1,051 m) through a total of 34 bends to the 2,032 m-high Bielerhöhe (toll road) as far as Galtür (1,584 m) in the Paznauntal. Passo Stelvio The original road was built in 1820-25 by the Austrian Empire to connect the former Austrian province of Lombardia with the rest of Austria, covering a climb of 1871 m. The engineer and project manager was Carlo Donegani (1775–1845). Since then, the route has changed very little. Its sixty hairpin turns, 48 of them on the northern side numbered with stones, are a challenge to motorists. BMW World The permanent exhibition covers a surface area of some 4,000 m² and houses more than 120 of the most valuable and attractive automobiles, motorcycles and engines from nine decades of BMW history.

As TOURATECH Testcenter most of our motorcycles are equipped with TOURATECH luggage systems (panniers, topcase, tank bags, inner bags) and protection systems (hand guards, engine crash bars, cylinder protection, shaft protector). We also offer our customers several TOURATECH comfort seats.

There is only a limited amount of gear available. Please make your reservation together with your bike rental.
