Humanities News RE Tough Cookies Visit Message from LMO; This week, Tough Cookies Education came in to deliver sessions on consent to Year 9. The students were taught about the importance of people talking to each other about what they wanted or didn’t want when they are intimate with each other. Silence does not mean a person has given consent. The staff delivering the sessions said the students were incredibly mature and asked very thoughtful questions.

Upcoming Music Event Message from ZPA; I’m very excited to announce that on the last day on term, Friday 17th February, we will be holding a music event for all student in year groups 7- 10. Stanne (a northern based urban pop singer/ song writer) is an artist who draws inspiration from her own experiences, including being bullied as a teenager. Her music is empowering and she has already been quoted as being ‘an inspiration for young people’. Following each performance, Stanne will be hosting a ‘Question and Answer’ session about her music career. Writing partner, producer and manager Dylan Charles will also be here with Stanne. For more info please keep checking our @CedarCPA Twitter page and check out www.stanne.co.uk/ to hear her latest tracks from Stanne’s UNLOVE tour. You can also follow her on Twitter @Stannemusic

Save the Children

Thank you so much for taking part in Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day 2016 – we hope you and your students had a woolly wonderful day! By getting together in our festive knits, we've been able to make a serious difference to children around the world.

Pay in your donations to help children like Abeo* and Kalu*

Thanks to everyone who’s already paid in, we've already raised more than £2 million to help save children's lives around the world. This money could help children like Abeo* and Kalu*. In 2016, our Save the Children Search and Rescue Vessel rescued them in the Mediterranean. While they were on board, they were able to play, learn, and start to come to terms with what they'd been through. So a massive thank-you again from everyone here at Save the Children – we can't wait until Christmas Jumper Day 2017!

City Year Update Worrying about your exams?

This week’s City Year Profile is… Name: Miss Joao Age: 22 How long have you worked for City Year? 1 month and two weeks. That is the best thing about working for City Year? I get to see the student’s transformation. If you could be a character in a Disney film who would you be and why? As a Disney character I would be Anastasia. As, even though she doesn’t really know her past she happily lives for the present and makes the most of it. What’s your favourite subject? My favourite subject is IT/Computing. What are you looking forward to implementing at CMA? I am hoping to use my own experiences to inspire students at CMA.
