Register: Click here to register now! The active 2017 Hurricane Season brought into sharper focus the climate challenges facing small island developing states in the Caribbean and beyond. Against this background, the Caribbean Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (CIMH) and the Caribbean Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) are implementing a regional review of early warning systems (EWS). This is being done through the Climate Risk and Early Warning Systems (CREWS) Project, with special focus on the islands of Antigua and Barbuda and the Commonwealth of Dominica. Part of the focus of this review is to analyse EWS using gender perspectives in order to develop more people-centered systems to address multiple hazards. The Caribbean Leadership Project is pleased to collaborate with CIMH and CDEMA to present the findings and recommendations of this review through this webinar - especially as the Caribbean is at the start of the 2018 Hurricane Season. Other partners in this initiative are the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO), the World Bank Group, Global Facility for Disaster Reduction and Recovery (GFDRR), and the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR).
