Children’s House February is often best known for the holiday, Valentines Day. A day of celebrating those we love and being loved. Children’s House will be full of pink and red hearts and this special day will be celebrated in each classroom with a card exchange and party. During this month of celebrating love may we also stop and remember the unconditional love God has for us, his children. Take a peek in the classrooms this month and see all the wonderful changes we are making. In January teachers assessed their classrooms using a comprehensive scoring scale, Itters and Ecers. Teachers will take the results and build a quality improvement plan for their room. Together we are working to align ourselves with ExceleRate Illinois Circle of Quality. Many changes can be seen in the classroom arrangements and within our daily activities. We look forward to growing the programming we provide for children in our daily care. This month we wished two our staff members a very happy birthday! Birthday day wishes to Miss Nicole M. and Miss Alison C. Judy Vlach Children’s House Director

Inside News CBC’s Matt Allen Receives National Honors

! Each year the National Guard Bureau recognizes its top producing recruiters in their respective categories. The award for fiscal year 2013 Top Officer Accessions was recently presented to Master Sgt. Matthew J. Allen. This places him at the top of a field of 95 other designated officer recruiters competing for the award. He is no stranger to recruiting awards. In 2000 he was recognized as Top Production Recruiter of the Year for the state of Illinois and as Top Production Recruiter of the Year for Region 2, in 2002, 2005, and 2008.Master Sgt. years as a production recruiter, he became the Recruiting Office Supervisor in 2012. At that time the overall officer manning was at 84%. By the end of that fiscal year, officer manning had increased to over 90%, a significant increase in such a short amount of time. This put the wing at its highest officer end strength since 2008. “I am truly grateful and humbled by this public recognition,” said Allen upon receiving the award. He went on to say, “This is the direct result of a lot of hard work and dedication to the success of the 183rd Fighter Wing mission, not only by myself, but by others as well.” This was not the only award received. He was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award, for over 600 total accessions throughout his recruiting career and the 1st and 4th Quarter Top Health Professions Recruiter in the Nation in fiscal year 2013.

Visitor’s Info and FAQ

! We are one church in two locations, with campuses in Springfield and New Berlin, IL. Together, we are a church family! loving God, loving people, and serving the world in Jesus’ name. All are welcome to worship with us. We gather each Sunday to love God in worship at our Springfield Campus (located at 501 South 4th Street, Springfield, IL) at 8:30 am and 11:00 am, and at our New Berlin Campus (located at 600 W Birch Street, New Berlin, IL) at 5:00 pm. When you visit our church you are our guest. Our members and regular worshipers participate in a financial offering during the worship services, but this is not expected of our guests. Our desire is to be a church that helps people know and experience God in a meaningful way. If there is anything that we can do to help you on your life and faith journey, please let us know. Where Can I Park? The Springfield campus parking lot is smaller, however additional parking is available along the street (4th street and on Jackson), in the Illinois Bar Association’s parking lot on East Jackson Street, and in the parking lot across from the Illinois National Bank building on South 4th Street between East Capital Avenue and East Jackson Street. (This latter lot will be easy to see, diagonally across from the front of the church as you arrive). Is Childcare Available? Our nurseries located on the first floor of the building. Our well trained and experienced child care workers and paid staff are eager to care for and spend time with children. We also have Sunday School classes (beginning at 9:45) available for Pre-K children through high school students at our Springfield campus. Classes meet on the second and third floors. What Should I Wear? There is no dress code at Central. Wear what makes you feel comfortable and to be who you are. Our 8:30 AM worship service in Springfield is a traditional service. The attendees generally wear business casual attire. Our 11 AM worship service in Springfield and 5 PM worship service in New Berlin are both contemporary worship services and most people dress casually. We only ask that you turn your cell phone off or set it to vibrate. What Kind of Music Can I Expect? In Springfield, the 8:30 AM service music is lead by our Chancel Choir and designed to connect you with God through rich traditions of hymns, songs, scripture and prayer. Our contemporary service at 11 AM is led by our worship band and features modern worship music. There is a high-energy, celebratory feel to the service and participation is encouraged and expected. Whether we are clapping, singing, reflecting, or listening, our focus in only on Jesus. New Berlin also has a contemporary service at 5 PM and is led by our worship band and features modern worship music. We provide a weekly podcast of the sermon or teaching message each week. If you feel gifted and called to serve in worship ministry, please contact our Worship Arts Director, Robert Reynolds. Some examples of ways to serve in worship ministry include singing with the worship band or choir, playing an instrument, reading Scripture, volunteering as an usher, running sound and/or media, etc. Get(Connected( !! ! ! ! www.facebook.com/cbcchurchfamily! !! twitter.com/CBCchurchfamily! ! ! ! !!!!!!!!!!!!cbcchurchfamily.org!!
