And here’s the good news: • The average Cherry Hill homeowner tax contribution is approximately $643.68 annually or $53.64 a month for both Fire and EMS services. • The CHFD’s “All Hazards Response 24/7” is the first level of protection for fire and life safety emergencies that include: home and business fires, gas explosions, rescues, medical emergencies, auto accidents, management and mitigation of chemical spills, police support. • A 5th Ambulance is now being staffed Monday through Friday during the day to handle the increase in Emergency Medical Calls for service. • The Cherry Hill Fire Department is currently 1 of 178 Fire Departments in the United States and three (3) in the State of New Jersey with an ISO Class 1 PPC designation. • The Cherry Hill Fire Department is the only Internationally Accredited Fire Department in New Jersey and the only ISO Class 1 and Internationally Accredited Fire Department in the Tri-State Area! • Moody’s Investors has assigned the Fire District’s Bond Rating an Aa1; highest rating for a Fire District in the State. Bottom line…NO TAX INCREASE IN 2017!

INSURANCE SERVICE OFFICE CLASS 1 AND INTERNATIONALLY ACCREDITED AGENCY ACHIEVEMENTS IN 2016 Insurance Service Office Class 1 – This past year the Cherry Hill Fire Department was re-evaluated on the quality of fire protection for Cherry Hill Township by the ISO. This analysis reviews the operation of the fire department, the public water supply system, emergency communications and community risk reduction efforts. As a result of this evaluation, the Cherry Hill Fire Department received the highest designation from the ISO, which is a Class 1 Fire Department. As a property owner in Cherry Hill this is important to you! Insurance companies use this information to establish premiums for fire insurance for a community. This new rating took effect December 1, 2016. Accreditation – Also this past year, the Cherry Hill Fire Department completed an accreditation process that began in May 2014. Accreditation is a process that includes a comprehensive self-assessment and evaluation model that allows an organization to examine their past, current and future service levels and compare them to industry best practices. A peer assessment team completed a 1-week on-site visit to validate the operation of the Cherry Hill Fire Department. Upon completion of the visit, they submitted a written report to the Commission on Fire Accreditation International on their findings. The Cherry Hill Fire Department was approved as an Accredited Agency for a 5-year period in August 2016.

KEY FACTS & OVERVIEW • Total budget appropriation for fiscal year 2017 is $27,690,903. This includes $1,113,996 for debt service and $130,000 from reserves for the 2017 Vehicle Capital Program. Balance is for Fire & EMS services operating expenses. The amount to be raised by taxation is $22,205,486, which equates to .287 per $100 tax rate. This, in addition to the receipt of miscellaneous revenue of $3,122,350 and the use of fund balance in the amount of $2,363,067, equals the total budget appropriation of $27,690,903. • 95 percent of CHFD personnel are assigned to field operations to answer your call for help. At a minimum, 25 Fire Service and seven EMS personnel are on duty 24/7. • There are six fully staffed and strategically located fire stations with five EMS Units: 4 Engines 2 Ladders 1 Technical Rescue

2 Haz-Mat Units 1 Foam Tender 3 Ambulances with 2 additional during peak hours

As always, through sound fiscal policies, we remain committed to good stewardship of Department resources funded by Cherry Hill Residents. • The Cherry Hill Fire Department’s 2016 Standard of Cover (Operational Overview), Strategic Plan and more information on ISO and Accreditation is available on the department’s web-site: cherryhillfire.org under Board of Fire Commissioners. • The Board of Fire Commissioners continues to participate in the New Jersey State Health Benefits program to control health insurance costs. Employees are in their 6th year in continuing to contribute to their health benefits. • Quality Volunteer Rehab and Fire Police Units. Both respond to extended emergency incidents to support Firefighters, EMT’s and Police Officers with food/shelter and traffic control. • The Board of Fire Commissioners established shared service agreements with ten (10) surrounding local governments to provide Fire Apparatus and Ambulance repair and preventive maintenance services. • Continuation of shared service agreement with Camden County to administer the County Fire Watch Program through the Juvenile Justice Commission.
