WITH YOUR CONTINUED VOTING SUPPORT… We remain in a position to protect our residents and businesses. After six years without increasing taxes the Fire District is asking for a slight increase in the tax rate from $.287 to $.297 per $100 tax rate; which equates to $1.91 per month on the average assessed home of $223,500. The District strives to follow best practices and demonstrate an ongoing improvement philosophy in its delivery of Fire and EMS services to the Township. This requires a financial commitment by the Board of Commissioners in addition to public support. • The average Cherry Hill homeowner tax contribution is approximately $665.58 annually or $55.46 a month annually for both Fire and EMS services. • The CHFD’s “All Hazards Response 24/7” is the first level of protection for fire and life safety emergencies that include: home and business fires, gas explosions, rescues, medical emergencies, auto accidents, management and mitigation of chemical spills, police support. • A 5th Ambulance is now being staffed Monday through Friday during the day to handle the increase in Emergency Medical Calls for service. • The Cherry Hill Fire Department is currently 1 of 178 Fire Departments in the United States and two (2) in the State of New Jersey with an ISO Class 1 PPC designation. • The Cherry Hill Fire Department is the only Internationally Accredited Fire Department in New Jersey and the only ISO Class 1 and Internationally Accredited Fire Department in the Tri-State Area! • Moody’s Investors has assigned the Fire District’s Bond Rating an Aa1; highest rating for a Fire District in the State.

INSURANCE SERVICE OFFICE CLASS 1 AND INTERNATIONALLY ACCREDITED AGENCY – FIRE DEPARTMENT Insurance Service Office Class 1 – The Cherry Hill Fire Department continues as an ISO Class 1 Fire Department; the highest designation from ISO in their Public Protection Classification Program. The program provides an objective standard to evaluate a community’s fire protection. As a property owner this is important to you! Insurance companies use this information to assess risk and establish insurance premiums. Generally better fire protection equates to lower fire insurance premiums for a community. Accreditation – The Cherry Hill Fire Department has been designated an accredited agency for the period 2016 to 2021. Accreditation is a process that includes a comprehensive self-assessment and evaluation model that allows an organization to compare themselves to industry best practices. Each year the Cherry Hill Fire Department is required to submit an annual report to the Commission on Fire Accreditation (CFAI) showing a continual improvement process. For 2017 the Cherry Hill Fire Department received a favorable review for continued accreditation status. A community’s investment in Fire and EMS Services will attract residential, business and commercial development, which will benefit the taxable ratable base and the residents of the Township.

KEY FACTS & OVERVIEW • Total budget appropriation for fiscal year 2018 is $29,321,608. This includes $757,550 for debt service and $700,000 from reserves for the 2018 Capital Fleet; Heavy Apparatus Replacement Program. Balance is for Fire and EMS services operating expenses. The amount to be raised by taxation is $23,031,237, which equates to $.297 per $100 tax rate. This in addition to receipt of miscellaneous revenue of $3,215,568 and the use of fund balance in the amount of $3,074,803, equals the total budget appropriation of $29,321,608. • 95 percent of CHFD personnel are assigned to field operations to answer your call for help. At a minimum, 25 Fire Service and seven EMS personnel are on duty 24/7. • There are six fully staffed and strategically located fire stations with five EMS Units: 4 Engines 2 Ladders 1 Technical Rescue

2 Haz-Mat Units 1 Foam Tender 3 Ambulances with 2 additional during peak hours

As always, through sound fiscal policies, we remain committed to good stewardship of Department resources funded by Cherry Hill Residents. • The Cherry Hill Fire Department’s 2016 Standard of Cover (Operational Overview), 2015 to 2017 and 2018 to 2020 Strategic Plans, 2018 to 2020 Reserve and Business Plan and more information on ISO and Accreditation is available on the department’s website: cherryhillfire.org under Board of Fire Commissioners. • The Board of Fire Commissioners continues to participate in the New Jersey State Health Benefits program to control health insurance costs. Employees are in their 7th year in continuing to contribute to their health benefits. • Quality Volunteer Rehab and Fire Police Units. Both respond to extended emergency incidents to support Firefighters, EMT’s and Police Officers with food/shelter and traffic control. • The Board of Fire Commissioners continues shared service agreements with ten (10) surrounding local governments to provide Fire Apparatus and Ambulance repair and preventive maintenance services. • Continuation of shared service agreement with Camden County to administer the County Fire Watch Program through the Juvenile Justice Commission.
