Chief Executive Officer San Francisco, CA About Full Circle Fund Full Circle Fund (FCF) is an active network of professionals who leverage their time, talent, and connections to help nonprofit organizations launch new initiatives, make a greater impact, and accelerate positive change in our community.
Since its founding in 2000, FCF has raised $11 million, accelerated 100+ Bay Area nonprofits, and engaged hundreds of professionals in over 90,000 hours of service. FCF members work together to identify and scale solutions to challenges by selecting and partnering with 1215 leading nonprofit organizations every year in four core issue areas, including Economic Opportunity, Education, Environment & Energy, and Health. Position Overview FCF is looking for its next CEO to drive program growth and community impact throughout the Bay Area. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors and managing a staff of five, the CEO will represent the organization among its members, companies, grant partners, and other key stakeholders, including luminaries of the Bay Area’s technology, business, and philanthropic communities. The CEO will extend FCF’s impact by supporting the Member teams working with grant partners, leveraging strategic partnerships, and promoting innovation in core programs through the four Circles. Major Duties and Responsibilities Strategy and Planning The CEO will lead FCF strategy within the broad context of the Bay Area and national landscape, and apply innovative thinking and performance measurements to analyze and support strategic decisionmaking. The CEO will leverage the FCF network and stay current with best practices in philanthropy, while establishing goals, objectives, and operational plans in close collaboration with the Board of Directors, staff, and other stakeholders. Impact and Community Relations The CEO will ensure FCF’s high visibility to prospects and the public, and drive thought leadership across diverse media, including conferences. The CEO will collaborate with staff to extend FCF’s community impact through encouraging leadership in strategic partnerships and 1
by promoting innovation in core programming, such as the four Circles. The CEO will also grow relationships and activate the engaged philanthropy and startup communities through new program fronts, such as the Founder’s Pledge, in close collaboration with the Director, Special Projects. Revenue Development Through membership, foundation, corporate, and largeevent revenues, the CEO will actively manage and drive FCF’s diversified revenue stream and growth. This includes: collaborating with the Development Director to cultivate existing and new relationships spanning FCF’s portfolio of individual, foundation, and corporate supporters; leading the conceptualization and planning of FCF’s Annual Benefit (October 15, 2015); ensuring a diverse and sustainable mix of members; and maintaining healthy cash flow and adequate reserves through building and administering the annual budget. Organizational Management The CEO will develop an organizational infrastructure to support and promote current strategy and goals, while anticipating changes and preparing for growth. Activities include integrating strategy, organization, and operations when assigning roles, and managing the FCF staff, from hiring to leadership development, performance management, and compensation. S/he will ensure that FCF’s professional values are prioritized in all employment practices. Finally, the CEO must ensure that the appropriate systems, physical space, and technology are in place to operate efficiently and effectively. Preferred Qualifications and Skills Core Qualities ● Entrepreneurial drive combined with a strategic, analytical mind ● S uperb interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills including professionalism, charisma, and integrity ● Passion for effective philanthropy in the Bay Area ecosystem or missiondriven programs ● Ability to engage and inspire key stakeholders among business, tech, government and philanthropy elites ● Record of creating scaleable operations across all business functions ● Strong preexisting Bay Area network Demonstrable Successes ● Leading organizations in fastpaced, entrepreneurial environments, in either the nonprofit, public, and/or private sector ● Networking to build creative and mutually beneficial partnerships within the nonprofit, public, and private sectors ● Creating strategy and executing tactics ● Managing teams effectively and cohesively ● Sound financial management, including building and managing budgets, preparing Board reports, and overseeing monthly / annual closes 2
Qualifications ● Bachelor degree required and advanced degree strongly preferred ● Substantial demonstrated success in fundraising and revenue growth ● Track record of executive leadership required Compensation This is a full time exempt position based in San Francisco, CA at the Impact HUB at 901 Mission Street.
