LGBT Youth Scotland Citywide InfiniT A transgender youth service for young people 13-17
£7,422 Scotland has become one of the most legally progressive nations in Europe for LGBTI young people. Unfortunately, the law is often a few steps ahead of young people’s experiences and wider social attitudes and LGBTI young people still experience prejudice, discriminatory attitudes and bullying. The team at LGBT Youth Scotland would like to: • Provide a weekly group for transgender, non-binary and gender fluid young people, aged 13-17, to come together in a safe and supportive environment. • Deliver an engaging interactive programme of sessions and activities, designed with young people’s input, to include a range of topics including social action, peer education, and to promote emotional, physical and mental wellbeing. • Provide financial support to 10 young people so they can attend our exciting Year of Young People event: the LGBT National Youth Gathering in Dumfries in 2018. This will be a fantastic opportunity for young people to engage in social action workshops, learn new skills and have a lot of fun with their peers!
