Christmas 2015 Let us take care of everything for you this Christmas. Enjoy three days at Calcot Manor indulging in the pleasures of our restaurants and spa, and relaxing in the comfort of your own country house retreat.
Christmas Programme Christmas Eve Christmas will begin at Calcot on Thursday 24th December, when we welcome our guests with Christmas cake, mince pies and scones in front of our roaring log fires. Guests are invited to join us for a Champagne reception before a leisurely evening meal, and later in the evening a visit by local choristers.
Christmas Day Christmas Day begins with a Champagne breakfast, either in the comfort of your bedroom, or in The Conservatory Restaurant. For those wishing to attend Christmas morning service, there are several small churches in the parishes of Tetbury, Kingscote and Beverstone - we would be happy to arrange your travel. Christmas lunch is served in The Conservatory Restaurant. Christmas afternoon is rarely active, but for those feeling energetic we can recommend a walk to revive your appetite for the evening’s light supper. On Christmas Day evening, we will serve a relaxed candle-lit supper for house guests in The Gumstool Inn.
Boxing Day There is as much (or as little!) to do as you like on Boxing Day with a clay-pigeon shoot in the grounds (please speak to reception for details), or the Arboretum at Westonbirt and Sir Peter Scott’s Wildfowl Trust at Slimbridge both a short distance from the hotel. For the less energetic, this might be a good time to be pampered in Calcot Spa, or stay in the hotel and curl up in front of the fire with a good book. The festivities come to an end with a cocktail party and dinner in The Conservatory Restaurant. Lunch will be available in The Gumstool Inn and The Conservatory Restaurant on Boxing Day, but this is not included in the price of the break. Guests are advised to reserve a table in advance.
Christmas Tariff 2015 These prices are based on double occupancy for the Christmas programme, arriving on the 24th December and departing after breakfast on the 27th. They include three nights accommodation, full English breakfast each morning, dinner as described in the package, lunch on Christmas Day, and a cocktail party and dinner including selected wines to accompany each course on Boxing Day, plus service and VAT. We will be offering seasonal specials at lunchtime along with our banqueting menus for larger groups, as well as a Christmas menu for parties of 10 or more that we are sure you will find tempting. So, whether you are planning to celebrate with friends, family or colleagues in a formal or casual setting, Calcot offers the perfect solution for any get together. The Garden Room Ideal for 12-16 guests, this private dining room adjoins The Conservatory Restaurant. The Gumstool Inn Gloucestershire’s leading ‘dining pub’ is perfect for parties up to 16 guests and offers a ‘buzzy’ and completely informal atmosphere.
The Conservatory Restaurant Elegant yet still informal, The Conservatory Restaurant features a wood-burning oven which is partially viewable to diners. Decorated with hundreds of white Christmas lights and winter foliage, it is a spectacular sight. The Conservatory Restaurant seats up to 80 guests. Private parties of 30-40 guests can be accommodated in the Terrace Room at lunch time, while smaller tables for up to 10 can be arranged in the main restaurant. The Barn at Calcot For more ambitious Christmas party celebrations, The Barn is a fabulous and entirely self-contained venue. The reception area is perfect for pre-dinner drinks and there are three versatile suites for parties from 10-100 guests. The Henry and Stone rooms are suitable for 10-20 guests and the Abbey Suite for up to 50 guests (these are all on the ground floor). The Thomas Suite on the first floor (lift available) is a stunning room for up to 110 guests. New Year 2015 At Calcot Manor, New Year is a relaxed house party with fine food, Champagne, excellent wines and as much dancing as you like! We do hope you can join us.
New Year Programme wednesday 30th December Guests arriving throughout the day will be welcomed with Afternoon Tea served in front of crackling log fires. The afternoon might be spent visiting Calcot Spa - an opportunity to be thoroughly pampered before the party begins. Dinner will be a relaxed affair served in our beautiful Conservatory Restaurant allowing guests to unwind before the celebrations the following day.
New Year’s Eve Children’s entertainer, Pizazz, is at Calcot during the afternoon and throughout the evening and never fails to entertain our smaller guests with, amongst many other activities, his balloon modelling. The party begins for the adults with a Champagne and canapè reception, before a five-course black tie dinner. After dinner, guests will be entertained by live music and as much (or as little!) dancing as you like. The midnight hour will be marked in the traditional style Champagne and a little ‘Auld Lang Syne’, and the casino and dancing will carry on into the early hours.
New Year’s Day After breakfast, blow away the previous night’s cobwebs by exploring the Cotswold countryside. For the less energetic, we suggest visiting Calcot Spa, or perhaps curling up with a good book in front of the fire. Dinner will be served in The Conservatory Restaurant.

Calcot Spa
and for the children
The spa is an oasis of relaxation and tranquility offering a 16m indoor pool, state of the art gymnasium, sauna, outdoor hot tub, steam room and beauty treatment rooms. The spa will be open from 9am until 6pm on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day, and from 10am until 1pm on Christmas Day. On 30th December the spa is open 7am until 9pm, and 9am until 6pm on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. It is essential to pre-book spa treatments prior to your stay, so please call the spa (01666 891 232) for the full treatment menu, designed to relax, pamper and rejuvenate.
Childrens swimming times for Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are 9-10.30am. Christmas Day swimming is from10-1pm. The Playzone, located in a converted barn in the courtyard at the front of the hotel, caters for children from newborn to 16 years old. It is packed with toys and games and with qualified nannies on hand to entertain your children whilst you relax elsewhere in the grounds. The Mez, on the mezzanine floor, incorporates a cinema and comes complete with Playstations, XBoxes and computers and is ‘the’ place to be for older children. This area is unsupervised so is only suitable for children over 8 years. The Playzone is open Christmas Day 2-5.30pm and Boxing Day 10-3pm. Please note that it is essential to pre-book children into The Playzone to avoid disappointment.
