What: Drilling and installation of one groundwater extraction well, one groundwater injection well, and associated groundwater conveyance piping.

Where: Pipeline construction in the City of Goodyear right-of-way on S. Litchfield Road from E. Loma Linda Boulevard to W. Yuma Road, W. Grant Street, S. Camino Oro Drive, and E. San Xavier Boulevard. The locations for drilling will be 991 S. Camino Oro Drive and 166 E. San Xavier Boulevard.

When: Construction activities are scheduled to begin May 1, 2017 from approximately 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; construction activities can last approximately thirteen weeks total with the drilling lasting about nine weeks.

How You May Be Affected: Businesses and residents should expect some noise during the construction activities and are asked to abide by the traffic signs and barricades in the area. Efforts will be made to cause the least disruption to businesses and residents. A chain-link fence may surround the work areas during construction for safety purposes.
History: Crane Co., the owner of the former Unidynamics facility on Litchfield Road, with oversight from EPA and the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality, is ordering the testing of the groundwater to determine the impact of chemical disposal practices decades ago at the former defense industry facility.
