ADDISON/STANDARD BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN CORRIDOR FROM BUCKEYE TO HOLLAND •

Concrete work is complete. Striping will be complete in spring, 2016. Work is on Lincoln and Standard heading north to Magnesium. This work will be for sidewalk and driveway installation. This project will complete a major bicycle and pedestrian corridor. It will add new bike lanes and sidewalks along the entire corridor and make improvements to existing bike lanes. This project is being funded with Federal funds

EVENTS • NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at the Arena o Thursday, March 17, 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. o Friday, March 18, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. o Saturday, March 19, Practice Day all day o Sunday, March 20, noon to 9 p.m.

GARDEN PARK BOOSTER STATION REHABILITATION AT 2403 EAST 37TH •

The new transmission main has been completed. Work on 37th Avenue is complete. Minor lane closures may occur related to driveway replacement and landscaping work, but 37th avenue will not be closed and detoured again with this project. This project is to rehabilitate the existing booster station with a new building, pumps, and motors. This work is for installation of a new transmission main and connection to the new Booster Station. The $500,000 project is being funded by City funds

HARTSON AVENUE FROM ALTAMONT STREET TO FISKE STREET •

Work will resume March 21 from Smith Street to Altamont Street. Access will be limited. The eastern portion of this project is complete. This project includes full depth roadway section of traveled way, fill sidewalk gaps, replace curbing where needed and install ADA curb ramps. The project will also include replacement of water lines. The $830,000 project is being funded with City Wastewater and Water funds

HAVANA STREET IMPROVEMENTS FROM GLENROSE ROAD TO 37TH AVENUE •

The water main installation is complete. This project also included the pathway along 44th between Freya and Havana. The pathway is complete as well. This project will continue in spring, 2016. The project could not be completed before winter so the permeable bike lanes, swales and roadside restoration for this project are delayed until spring 2016. Improvements include full width pavement replacement, complete sidewalk gaps and pilot project porous asphalt bicycle lanes. This project will also include installation of a 36 inch water transmission main between 37th Avenue and the Brown Park reservoirs at 57th Avenue. The $3.7 million project is funded with Local and State DWSRF funds

HIGH DRIVE & HATCH ROAD (CSO 20/24) •

This project will construct a storage facility for CSO Basin 20, with connecting piping, interceptor inlet vault, flush systems, regulator and controls at 43rd Avenue and Garfield Street. This work is part of the Combined Sewer Overflow program for a Cleaner River

Faster Integrated Approach to Street Repair. This project also installed several stormwater drywells on the residential streets north of 43rd and reconstructed 43rd/High Drive between Grand and Hatch. The tank is nearing completion. The entire project will be complete spring of 2016. This project is funded with Wastewater funds, Federal and Local funds INDIANA AVENUE FROM DAKOTA TO PERRY STREET •

The water department is conducting pre-construction work along this project. Indiana will have temporary closures at times with a detour route during this scheduled work. This project will include curb ramps, storm swales, new curb, waterline replacement, signal installation work and some parking removal This is a $2 million dollar project

LARRY H MILLER •

Madison Street from 3rd Avenue to Freeway Avenue North is closed. The redevelopment of the area for the Larry H Miller project will create an “Auto District” with streetscape amenities. This project is in general bounded by Monroe Street on the east, Adams Street on the west, 2nd to the North, and Freeway Avenue to the South.

MONROE/LINCOLN STREET COUPLET, 8TH AVENUE TO 2ND AVENUE •

Work will resume March 28 on Monroe Street from 4th Ave south to 8th Ave. Monroe Street will be closed to thru traffic. Lincoln will be converted to north and southbound traffic from 4th to 7th Ave. This project reconstructs the roadway from 8th to 2nd Avenue and installs storm water and water facilities. The portion of this project that reconstructed the street from 2nd to 4th Avenues is substantially complete. The $4.52 million project is being funded by the 10-Year Street Bond, Capital Programs, Storm Water Improvements, and Water Department

NON-CITY OBSTRUCTION CLOSURES • •

Piersol Construction will be closing 100% of 6th between Browne and McClellan from3/12-3/18 for rock blasting on site. Track Utilities (working for Centurylink) will be closing the sidewalk and parking lane on Mallon between Post and Cataldo from 3/11-3/18 to pull and proof ducts.

SDDS Construction will be closing the sidewalk, parking lane, and 3 meters on the south side of Sprague between Washington and Bernard from 3/21-3/25 for sidewalk repair. Pioneer Waterproofing will be closing the sidewalk and parking lane on Riverside starting 3/16 thru 3/18 and then move to Washington 3/19 thru 3/21 for window washing. Al work will be done between 4 AM-8 AM. Rhodes Crane and Rigging will be closing 100% of Wall St between the alley and Main St on 3/18 for placement of a crane to hoist materials onto a building roof. Track Utilities (working for Centurylink) will be closing the northern traffic lane on 3rd near the intersection with McClellan from 3/17-3/18 in order to work in a manhole. CenturyLink will be closing the northern west bound lane of Sunset Hwy between Technology Blvd and Flint from 03/09 to 03/18 to pull cable. Divcon will have the sidewalk on Hamilton and the sidewalk and parking lane closed on Desmet, Columbus, and Cataldo from 9/15/15 until 6/3/16 for construction on site.

NORTHWEST BOULEVARD AND COLUMBIA CIRCLE (CSO 6) •

Work will continue in spring 2016 to complete landscaping, sidewalk, and drywell installation along with paving of side streets not completed this fall. Concrete work is underway along remaining unpaved streets. The project includes the installation of a 900,000 gallon tank. New water mains will be added at H Street, Glass Avenue and Columbia Circle these lines will be connected to the new main along Columbia Circle. Columbia Circle, H Street and Glass Avenue will be repaved and sidewalk repairs will happen in select areas. Many driveways will be replaced to match the new street grade. The 9.5 million project is being paid for by the Water – Wastewater Integrated Capital Fund

PALOUSE TRAILS APARTMENTS The Palouse Highway crossing is temporarily suspended. When work continues on the crossing, White Water Creek Construction will be flagging Palouse Highway from East of Target at Regal to S Thor St to install water and sewer crossings for the new Palouse Trails Apartments. Palouse Highway will be one lane for the duration of the work (about one week). This project will begin within the next few weeks. This is a privately funded project PETTET DRIVE/TJ MEENACH COMBINED SEWER OVERFLOW (CSO 12) PROJECT



Pettit Drive under TJ Meenach Bridge is closed for initial work on the combined sewer overflow tank project that is scheduled in that area. The traffic control plans are as follows: · · · ·

Northbound traffic entering the project on Pettet Dr. will be detoured to northbound TJ Meenach Dr. (This is the only movement allowed) East bound traffic entering the project on Downriver Dr. will be detoured to southbound TJ Meenach Dr. (This is the only movement allowed) Northbound traffic entering the project on TJ Meenach will be forced to continue north on TJ Meenach Dr. (The portion of the clover leaf that allows traffic to access Pettet Dr. and Downriver Dr. will be closed) Southbound traffic entering the project on TJ Meenach will be allowed to proceed south on TJ Meenach or proceed west on Downriver Dr. (Access to southbound Pettet will not be allowed)

Phase 1 project work will include: • • • • • • • •

Grinding of the existing roadway with in this closure. Installation of storm water structures and piping. Concrete Curb removal and replacement Concrete Sidewalk removal and replacement Construction of Drainage Swales Some Tree removals within the swales areas Reconstruction of the roadway section Paving of the roadway section

This phase is planned to complete prior to Bloomsday 2016. After this phase is complete, there will be a full closure of Pettet Dr. Starting the Monday after Bloomsday. The 7.4 million project is funded with Utility rates and a Federal Water Quality State Fund POTHOLE CREWS •

Moisture and varying temperatures this month are the perfect mix for potholes. Street Maintenance Crews are proactive in looking for potholes and getting them repaired. If you see a pothole, report it to the City's Pothole Hotline at 509.625.7733. Potholes can also be reported online through your MySpokane account. Crews focus on the largest potholes on the busiest streets throughout the City first. Include as much information as possible on the location and size of the pothole.

ROWAN AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS FROM DRISCOLL BOULEVARD TO ALBERTA STREET



Rowan Avenue is closed from Driscoll Boulevard to N. “A” St. This closure will last approximately through May. This project is for reconstruction work from Driscoll Blvd. to Monroe Street. The project also includes installation of bike lanes, filling sidewalk gaps and replacing water lines. The $2.7 million project is a City funded project.

Traffic calming project work is suspended until spring 2016.

UNION BASIN STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS AT TRENT AND REGAL •

This project is shut down for winter and all work is suspended. This project will construct stormwater treatment installation and disposal facilities such as swales in various locations throughout the project. Work continues on Springfield from Trent to Napa. This $1.1 million project is funded by State and local funds.

UTILITY CREWS •

Work is on-going throughout the city for sewer and water repairs

WALL STREET CSO PROJECT •

The street surface along Wall Street has been temporarily put back with crushed asphalt. It is similar to crushed rock, but creates a more stable surface that produces little or no dust under traffic. A companion project for surface work to Wall Street is currently in the planning stage for construction in 2016. Urban Outfitters will continue their project with a small fence surrounding the project area for safety. Spokane Falls Boulevard has been paved and the pedestrian crosswalk is open. Runners Soul and Macy’s are open and accessible from Spokane Falls Boulevard. This work is part of the Wall Street Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) project and will include the installation of a manhole, catch basins, and a clean water drain. Vehicle access and on street parking will not be available. Pedestrian access will be maintained. Work on Wall Street between Spokane Falls Boulevard and the Main Street intersection includes installation of a CSO sewer main and clean water main. This project is part of the Cleaner River Faster Project improving the overall quality of our river. Please note: The businesses along Wall Street and Main Avenue, including Macy’s and Runners Soul, remain open during this construction work.



URBAN OUTFITTERS DEVELOPMENT WORK IN WALL STREET The skywalk connection to Old City Hall is closed. Walker Construction has set up construction fencing around 702 W Main. The fencing is scheduled to be up until demolition and construction of Urban Outfitters is complete in late June of 2016

WATER DEPARTMENT WORK The Water Department will be working in the following areas: •

Indiana from Dakota to Perry Street with partial street closures from Dakota to Perry for work to lower services for the Indiana project scheduled in the area. Work will continue for 2 months.
