Aluminum food and beverage containers – Aluminum cans must be empty, please crush, and contain less than 5% food debris.



Glass food and beverage containers – brown, clear, or green. All glass containers must by empty, no metal caps and rings, and contain less than 5% food debris.



Ferrous (Iron) cans - All tin, bi-metal and aerosol cans must be empty and contain less than 5% food debris or contents.



Plastics: o PET plastic containers with the symbol #1 – with screw tops only, caps removed o HDPE natural plastic containers with the symbol #2 – narrow neck containers only (milk and water bottles) o HDPE pigmented plastic containers with the symbol #2 – narrow neck containers only, caps removed (detergent, shampoo bottles, etc.) o Plastics with symbols #3, #4, #5, #6 – rigid only-no Styrofoam accepted, #7narrow and screw top containers All plastic containers must be empty, crush when possible, caps removed and contain less than 5% food debris. #6 plastic rigid only; no Styrofoam is accepted.



Paper o Newsprint o Magazines / Catalogs o Printer / Copier paper / Loose shredded paper in plastic bags o Mail o All other office paper without wax liners o Telephone books All Fiber must be dry and free of food debris and other contaminating material. Remove all plastic and metal parts. Tissues, paper towels or other paper that has been in contact with food is not acceptable.



Cardboard o Old corrugated cardboard o Cereal boxes o Pop cartons Remove all packing material, including Styrofoam, plastic, bands, and staples. Break down and flatten boxes to fit in bin slots. Pizza boxes-no grease, discard bottom of box. Top may be recycled.

Items Accepted at the Transfer Station for Recycling: Yukon Residents are allowed one free disposal per month with current month’s City of Yukon utility bill & driver’s license with matching address. Computers – CPUs Keyboards VCRs Cell Phones Washers Metal coat hangers

Computer Peripherals Printers Fax Machines Photocopiers Stereos Home & Office Phones Consumer Electronics Microwaves Dryers Dishwashers Household metal items such as cooking pots, toasters, etc.

The following items require an additional disposal fee: Computer Monitors – $10 Televisions – $20 Appliances with refrigerant – Refrigerators, Freezers, A/C units, etc. – $25 Car battery – $5 Tires – 16.5 inch & below – $5 per tire 17 inch to 19.5 inch – $10 per tire 20 inch to 25 inch – $15 per tire ***no off road or implement tires accepted
