================================================================================== ROLE AND PURPOSE: The Testing Clerk assists the Bilingual/ESL Language Placement Center in the testing of students new to the district who speak a language other than English. The Testing clerk also provides additional support by administering credit by exam assessments to students who are recent immigrants, administers assessments for Middle School Advanced Placement identification and assists campuses with spring oral proficiency testing. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:  High school diploma Experience:  Previous office experience, including computer skills with Word and Excel, TEAMS and Polaris  Knowledge of and/or experience in administering and scoring oral/written language assessments for program placement  Demonstrates proficiency in oral and written English and Spanish. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: I. SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION CLIMATE A. Strong communication and interpersonal skills B. Ability to communicate in person or on the telephone in a pleasant and service-oriented manner II. ADMINISTRATION AND FISCAL/FACILITIES MANAGEMENT A. Administer and score assessments for all students new to Arlington ISD that indicate a language other than English on the Home Language Survey B. Assist campuses with on-site testing (PK-12) when needed. C. Enter testing data into TEAMS D. Run reports and queries as needed E. Prepare and maintain Bilingual/ESL student records (PK-12), on computer by integrating information from LPAC forms. F. Enter immigrant information into TEAMS G. Run monthly ELL reports to keep records current to insure accuracy with PEIMS reporting to the Texas Education Agency H. Gather data for Bilingual/ESL required reports to the Texas Education Agency I. Knowledge of the Bilingual/ESL law, keep current on federal and state updates, and revise Bilingual/ESL handbook and LPAC manual as needed J. Maintain current files on all students tested by the Language Placement Center, duplicate materials and perform routine office duties III. SCHOOL/COMMUNITY RELATIONS A. Welcome and inform all students and parents sent to the Language Placement Center of the testing process required by law and the programs available through Arlington ISD B. Interview parents regarding their child’s education prior to qualification testing C. Works effectively with District and Department staff D. Communicate with Bilingual/ESL Administrators, Leads and Department Heads to ensure compliance with federal, local and state guidelines IV. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT A. B. Ability to maintain clerical records for TEA and PEIMS reporting C. Good organizational and work prioritization skills V. MISCELLANEOUS A.
