Client Alert: Hurricane Harvey Relief & Guidance On behalf of the entire Engage team, our thoughts are with all of those impacted by Hurricane Harvey, especially our clients and fellow colleagues in Houston and the surrounding areas. As ordinary Americans and global companies alike pitch in to support the relief efforts (including Engage), below is some information you may want to share with your employees and clients on how to help the victims. For our clients with operations/employees in areas impacted by the storm, Engage has prepared a Client Alert linked here with general HR guidance. After Harvey: How You Can Support Relief Efforts Donate to the American Red Cross and/or organize a blood drive. Apple and Amazon have also set up Red Cross donations pages. Houston Flood Relief Fund was established by NFL player J.J. Watts to aid the victims of Hurricane Harvey via a direct fundraising page on YouCaring.com GlobalGiving, a global crowdfunding community, has a goal of raising $2 million for its Harvey relief fund. Funds will be used first for immediate needs of food, water and shelter and then transition to long-term recovery efforts. The Houston Food Bank and the Food Bank of Corpus Christi are in need of donations and volunteers. The Center for Disaster Philanthropy has launched a Hurricane Harvey relief fund. Send Relief and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief says its teams began responding before Harvey made landfall and continues on-the-ground relief work. Samaritan's Purse is accepting donations as well as volunteers for Harvey disaster relief for the coming months.
