COBOURG CANADA DAY PARADE Sunday, July 1, 2018 Marshalling Time 11:00a.m Parade Start Time 12 noon
PARADE APPLICATION 1. All participants must complete an entry form and submit to the attention of the Canada Day parade by Friday June 22, 2018. Late entries may not be accepted. Each applicant will receive a phone call a few days before the parade informing them of their marshalling number. 2. The parade will officially be lead by a Police Car/ Cobourg Police Services, followed by the Concert Band of Cobourg and the official Cobourg Concert Band Colour Party followed by the dignitaries. DIGNITARIES will be: Mayor in office, Elected MP, Elected MPP
PARADE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 1. Parade float or vehicle entries must not exceed 55 feet including tow vehicle and cannot exceed 14 feet on the width or height. 2. Entries must be entertaining to a family audience, especially for children. 3. Parade participants shall not consume alcohol and will refrain from smoking during their participation in the parade. 4. An entry may be refused up to the start of the parade should the entry not meet parade guidelines or differ from their approved entry form. 5. For safety reasons no throwing of candy or any objects is not allowed 6. No entry will hand out literature, pamphlets, leaflets, brochures, flyers or any other written or printed materials to parade spectators. 7. There will be no premature exiting of the parade route. 8. Walking/Dancing groups must have their van or any other vehicle in front of its walkers/ dancers. 9. All non-float/filler vehicles must be decorated. ** Exceptions only for Specialty and Vintage ** 10. If you are performing or dancing, do so while in motion. Stopping will create unnecessary gaps in the parade. 11. Animal Entries: All entries are required to clean up behind their animals along the route. Please be courteous to the other participants. 12. AUTOMOBILES for commercial advertising ARE NOT acceptable as a float entry 13. Entrants must listen to the Parade Marshalls and not switch locations. 14. No persons shall be on any floats or vehicles in parade until they arrive at the Starting location and check in with the marshal.

PARADE ROUTE 1.
The parade starts at five corners (Cobourg Public Library), East on King St to Victoria Park (floats to continue to D’Arcy, South on D’Arcy St to Donegan Park for off-loading area) **The parade will officially end at Church St but all floats are asked to continue to D’Arcy Street and all groups must unload at Donegan Park.
