Day 1. Arrival to Bogota International Airport Arrival to El Dorado International Airport in Bogota, you will be transfer in a private transportation to a hotel in the city; if you arrive early you will can take dinner in hotel and this will be included; our guide or represent of Manakin Nature Tours will be waiting for you in the airport or hotel. Day 2. Chingaza National Park, La Calera Hummingbird Garden We will visit the Chingaza National Park early in the morning all day, we will take the breakfast and the lunch in the field and we are focus in a many important birds this day as to Brown-breasted Parakeet, Silvery-throated Spinetail, Blue-throated Starfrontlet, Matorral Tapaculo, Golden-fronted Whitestart, Coopery-bellied Puffleg, Rufous-browed Conebill, Purple-backed Thronbill, Paramo Seedeater, Plush-capped Finch, Pale-naped Brush-Finch, Smoky Bush-Tyrant, Black-billed Mountain Toucan, Black-headed Hemispingus and many more. In the afternoon we will come back to Bogota. Day 3. Florida Park, Enchanted Garden & Tabacal Lake, transfer Ibague (Eastern - Western slope) We will visit this day during the day three very special places close to Bogota, La Florida Park of the wetland ecosystems in where is possible to see very important birds of the savanna of the highlands as Bogota Rail, Apolinar Marsh Wren, Silvery throated Spinetail, Noble Snipe, Subtropical

After La Florida, we will visit the “Jardin Encantado ”hummingbird house in San Francisco, we will can see as to 16 different species of hummingbirds as Indigo capped Hummingbird, Gorgeted Woodstart and White bellied Woodstar; after of this place we will visit Laguna El Tabacal Location, a nice place af a secondary forest with very interesting birds as to Rusty brested Antpitta, Rosy thrust Tanager, Grey throated Warbler, Stripe breasted Spinetail and more. Mana Dulce Reserve (Magdalena Valley) Early in the morning we will transfer to Mana Dulce Natural Reserve in where the birds of the humid tropical forest and dry forest are the main attraction, we can see this day birds as Apical Flycatcher, Velvet fronted Euphonia, Lance tailed Manakin, White bellied Antbird, Pheasant Cuckoo, White ear Conebill and others . In the afternoon we will transfer to Ibague city, in where we will stay in a nice and comfortable hotel. Day 5. Nevado del Tolima National Park, San Jorge Botanical Garden (Central Andes) Birding in El Nevado del Tolima, El Silencio and Juntas locations the whole day, for seeing the next important birds: Golden crowned Redstart, Spillmann’s Tapaculo, Ocellated Tapaculo, Black-collared Jay, Buff-breasted Mountain-Tanager, Masked Saltator (endemic), Golden-plumed Parakeet, Graybreasted Mountain-Toucan, Tolima Dove, Yellow-headed Brush Finch, Tolima Blossomcrown, and many more. In the afternoon we will visit also San Jorge Botanical Garden. In the night we will come back to the hotel in Ibague. Day 6. Doima Road, Picaleña Lake´s & Laguna del Hato (Magdalena Valley) We will search some birds in the dry forest of Doima Road, in the afternoon we will visit the dry forest and fields of Laguna del Hato in where we will can find many birds. Otun-Quimbaya National Park - (Central Andes) We will look for wonderful birds all day in the Otun-Quimbaya Sanctuary of Fauna and Flora; this is a lovely place in the central Andes with some very important and rare birds; we’ll search for birds on a little-used road or on the paths inside the forest. Otun is very good for owling, so we do night explorations in this reserve, we will rest in Otun-Quimbaya National Park. Some interesting birds in Otun for this day are Cauca Guan, Chestnut Wood-Quail, Multicolored Tanager, Stile´s Tapaculo, Hooded Antpitta, Moustached Antpitta, Colombian Screech-Owl, Rufous-breasted Flycatcher, Flame-rumped Tanager, Scrub Tanager,Goldenplumed Parakeet Red-ruffed Fruitcrow Chestnut-breasted Wren Wattled Guan, Marble-faced Bristle-Tyrant, Andean Solitaire, Oleagineous Hemispingus, Golden-headed Quetzal, Whitewinged Becard, Western Emerald, Crimson-rumped Toucanet, Emerald Toucanet, Spotted Barbtail, Speckle faced Parrot and many more. Day 11. Otun-Quimbaya transfer to Montezuma Reserve (Central Andes) We will search more birds in the morning in Otun-Quimbaya National Park, in the afternoon we will departure to Pueblo Rico municipality and the Cerro Montezuma Natural Reserve. Day 12 - 13. Montezuma Rainforest Reserve (Western Andes) Montezuma is one of the best places to bird in Colombia, with an elevation gradient on the track from 1100 to 2800 meters, making this places one of the most diverse areas in all Colombia with more than 600 species recorded. We can see many endemics and nearendemics of the Choco Region; we will explore in two complete days 4 different spots on the birding track: Los Chorros (highest spot), Cajones (medium spot) and Clarita and Rio Claro (lower spots). The diversity in this four spots is special. Flamencos, VALE (Guajira Peninsula) All morning searching the really nice and different birds of the Los Flamencos National Park, in the afternoon we will transfer to Santa Marta city and visit the VALE location searching the endemic Chestnut winged Chacalaca that is possible in this place. After to VALE you will transfer to Santa Marta City in where you will rest in a nice hotel. One some days we may take picnic lunches in order to no waste time during the middle of the day or having to leave site. The weather can be unpredictable with rain and sunshine both likely. At higher altitudes it can be chilly.
