SITE VISIT TO FGV BESOUT POME BIOGAS PROJECT Felda Palm Industries - Besout Palm Oil Mill is one of the 71 mills owned by Felda Global Ventures Holdings equipped with biogas capture facility complete with gas engine & gas pretreatment. Biogas generated from palm oil mill discharge is captured, pretreated with bioscrubbing system to reduce hydrogen sulphite content before fed into gas engine. The electric power produced is then channelled to mill as internal power consumption, displacing diesel fuel previously used. This project is an example of clean, renewable energy generated from palm oil mill discharge, resulting in full utilization of biogas, fossil fuel displacement translated to savings in diesel cost and lowering the carbon emission/footprint.
