Communications Coordinator North Vancouver FC is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent organizational and communication skills for the position of Communications Coordinator. Job Summary A key strategic priority for the Club is to maintain and enhance the Club’s community spirit. The Club’s objectives under this priority are to:  Ensure that the membership feels connected to the Club. 
  Maintain the culture and image of the Club beyond the “play on the field”. 
  Ensure that the Club is a recognized name by the entire North Shore community.  Be the Club of choice for staff, committees, volunteers and members.
 To support this priority, the Communications Coordinator will sit on the Communications Committee and work collaboratively with the Club Board of Directors, other committees, staff and volunteers to create engaging communications across a range of channels for players, parents, teams and volunteers as well as external parties. The Communications Coordinator will report to and work closely with the General Manager to help to build and protect the profile and reputation of North Vancouver FC. Success in the role will depend on having a thorough knowledge of the Club organization, combined with a strong understanding of external factors that impact communications initiatives and their importance and sensitivity. Responsibilities  Support the development and implementation of the Club’s communications strategy including branding, social media, website and Club events.  Ensure that all Club communications follow and consistently support the Club’s communications strategy.  Ensure that all Club communications follow the Club brand templates, policies and guidelines and assist in the writing of the content.  Manage day-to-day communications from the Club to teams, parents and volunteers.

 

Assist in managing day-to-day communications that come in to the Club from players, parents, volunteers and external parties. Seek out and share communications about Club activities and priorities. Assist in the coordination of Club events such as sponsorship appreciation, photo days, community events, fundraising and the AGM. Oversee the Club website including reviewing and updating website content. Develop and implement a strategy and policy for Club social media. Determine content and write regular social media communications and the Club newsletter. Perform other communications duties as required, including developing content for marketing pieces, news releases, and membership outreach through surveys etc. Perform other duties as required to support the General Manager, Technical Director, Club Board of Directors and committees.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience  3-5 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations or journalism.  Full knowledge of social media platforms, having used social media as a marketing tool.  Demonstrates strong writing and editing skills.  Communicates clearly and effectively.  Possesses strong organizational skills and is detail-oriented  Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills.  Appreciation and understanding of the game of soccer.  2 years of volunteer experience.
