Company management and communications assistant BOP Consulting specialises in culture and the creative industries. BOP’s clients are national and city governments, private businesses, cultural organisations and their funders. BOP helps them to write strategies and plan for the future, to deliver new projects and partnerships, and to understand and communicate the value of what they do. This role: Main areas of work: - Supporting the management of a cultural consultancy - Marketing and communications Tasks include: Company management (approximately 40% of your time) - Maintaining our list of tenders and sourcing new tenders - Booking travel - Support to our finance manager e.g. chasing invoices etc Marketing (approximately 40% of your time) - updating our website - scheduling twitter - collating content for our quarterly newsletter - collating content for the bop site -formatting and developing powerpoint presentations Research tasks (around 20% of your time) - scheduling meetings and organising focus groups - basic ad hoc research tasks where required There will be a one-month probationary period. There may be opportunity for additional hours on an ad-hoc basis during the internship depending on project-need and the contract could potentially extend beyond August. Requirements The ideal applicant will have a background in the arts. You will be expected to display a genuine interest in/understanding of culture and the creative industries, such as through your choice of academic career, work experience to date or extra-curricular activities, voluntary roles or positions of responsibility.

Communication skills Ability to interpret information (written and oral) to focus on key findings, communicate your findings clearly and succinctly (written/visually and verbal) to a defined audience Research skills Knowledge and application of a range of relevant quantitative and qualitative research tools and techniques Computing skills Word-processing, using databases, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, the Internet, Twitter, etc Time management Manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks and able to work to deadlines. High quality of work Ability to perform tasks thoughtfully and efficiently and meet quality and resource (e.g. time, cost) expectations. Initiative Capable of working independently on your own projects, understanding when to seek guidance and when to use own initiative Personal attributes Proactive, open to change, and ready to grow. TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Length of internship: Pay:

12 months £10,452 pro rata (equivalent of £6.70 per hour) Hours of work: 30 hours per week Days: 6 hours per day over 5-day week or 7.5 hours per day over 4-day week to be mutually agreed Evening/Weekend work: No Time off in lieu/No Holiday: 16 days + bank holidays and additional days between Christmas and New Year during office closure Application closing date 12 noon on 22 January 2016 Potential interview date: 8 -15 February (TBC) Preferred starting date: March 2016 (date TBC)
