We have planned the day so that you can enjoy some excellent presentations from key industry people that are involved with the changing world in which we live. Whatever your subject of expertise, there should be something in the presentations for you to learn and leave feeling better informed. At Security TWENTY 18 North we will be raising funds for The Rainbow Fund is a group of Mums and a Dad in Harrogate wanting to make a difference, all of whom have been affected in some way by prematurity, illness and life limiting conditions in their children.

SPEAKERS Elizabeth France, CBE - Security Industry Authority Elizabeth France was appointed Chair of the SIA Board in January 2014. She is also Chair of the Police Advisory Board for England and Wales, a member of the British Transport Police Authority, Pro Chancellor of Aberystwyth University and a member of the General Assembly of Manchester University. Until 31 March 2014 Elizabeth was Chair of the Office for Legal Complaints. From 2002 to 2009 she was Chief Ombudsman and Chief Executive of the Ombudsman Service Ltd, which provided the Telecommunications Ombudsman Service (Otelo), the Energy Ombudsman Service and the Surveyors Ombudsman Service. She was a Non-Executive Director of the Serious Organised Crime Agency from 2005-2010. Elizabeth began her career in the Home Office, resigning to become the Data Protection Registrar in September 1994 and becoming Information Commissioner in January 2001. Elizabeth has been awarded honorary doctorates by the Universities of De Montfort, Loughborough and Bradford and is a Fellow of Aberystwyth University. In June 2002 she was awarded a CBE, for services to data protection. Michael White - G4S Michael has over twenty years’ experience working in security management throughout the UK gained in both the public and private sectors across a wide range of sectors including shopping centres (that includes centres in Taunton, Tunbridge Wells, Coventry, Gloucester and Great Yarmouth as well as time as the National Account Manager (UK) for Westfield), offices, distribution centres, event and diplomatic security, utilities and media firms besides The London Stock Exchange. Proficient across the operational and compliance process he has worked with blue-chip clients to strengthen their security provision, enhance their service delivery, implement robust and resilient security procedures and undertake operational security audits and threat assessments. Michael is currently Head of Risk and Compliance (UK and Ireland) at G4S. He is the former Chairman of IPSA, a Director of the Security Institute, and holds memberships in the ASIS UK and the Institute of Directors and is a Freeman of The City of London through his membership of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals.

SPEAKERS Ron Gregory - National Association for Healthcare Security Ron first came in to contact with Healthcare Security when deploying to Afghanistan where he trained NHS staff (who were mobilised as Reservists) to work at Bastion Field Hospital and mentoring Afghan National Army Medical staff. He trained and advised staff at all levels in personal protection and security. Whilst serving in the Army Ron specialised in a number of security areas, notably surveillance and reconnaissance and was one of the lead instructors responsible for the establishment of the Helmand Police Training Centre in Helmand. Following his last tour he left the services (for a second time) and combining his previous security, training and management skill set assumed the post of Security Management Trainer at an Acute Trust in the East Midlands on a 1 year contract where he brought CRT compliance up dramatically and, once out of special measures, turned his focus on to implementing CRT (Refresher), training the in house security staff and also developed a two-tier Lone Worker training package. As well as completing the NHS Protect CRT Fam Sem, he holds the City & Guilds qualifications in delivering Conflict Management, and Physical Intervention Training. After a spell of diversification, working in the wider Estates & Facilities directorate as Compliance Manager, Ron now works at a large acute NHS Trust in the North of England where he is employed as the Security Manager. A keen interest in personal and professional development Ron holds a degree in Protective Security Management from Bucks New University and is currently studying for his MSc Organisational Resilience. He maintains his SIA frontline licence (Close Protection and CCTV) and conducts quality assurance for private security providers and in 2016-17 was a Standards Verifier (SV) for Pearson Group (BTEC and EdExcel). He is a Member of the Security Institute (MSyI), the Chartered Management Institute (MCMI), the Emergency Planning Society (EPS) and is a Specialist Member of the International Institute for Risk and Safety Management (SIIRSM). Since November 2015, Ron has held a voluntary position as executive director (currently without portfolio) with the National Association for Healthcare Security (NAHS).

SPEAKERS Nicole Vazquez - Worthwhile Training Nicole is the founder of Worthwhile Training and has over 20 years experience assisting organisations with practical advice to manage the risks associated employee’s personal safety, security and wellbeing. She works with organisations in many sectors to design, implement and embed control measures and training solutions to achieve measurable results. Nicole is also the organiser of the Lone Worker Safety Expo Conference. The only UK event which brings together experts in managing the safety, security and wellbeing risks of lone workers. Simon Whitehouse FSyI CSyP CPP PSP MIET SGW Consulting Group Simon is a Chartered Security Professional (CSyP), an ASIS International Qualified Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Physical Security Professional (PSP) & holder of various BTEC Professional qualifications in security technology disciplines. He is a Fellow and elected director of The Security Institute responsible for International Development, and a former elected director of the Association of Security Consultants. Simon has over 33 years of experience as a security practitioner, with the last 15 years focused on consulting and programme management assignments. Simon is a SABRE Registered Assessor and SABRE Registered Professional in ‘Security Strategy’, ‘Security Design & Engineering’ and ‘Operational Security’. Simon’s SABRE licence number is SLC-004-001, and he is licenced by BRE to display the SABRE Badge of Recognition accordingly. In the UK, Simon has been lead consultant for hospital, university, transportation and other public-sector consulting assignments. In the Gulf Region, Simon is a Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) – Dubai Licensed Security Consultant and a Saudi Arabia HCIS CLU listed consultant. He has led the SGW consulting team working on iconic projects internationally, including Masdar City Masterplan, Yas Island Theme Parks Masterplan, The National Stadium in the UAE, A national Railway Operation in a Gulf Country, Landmark Towers / Tall Buildings in the Gulf and Iconic Leisure Projects in the Peoples Republic of China.
