Victims of abuse experience physical, mental, and social consequences as a result of the violence. Abuse can even lead some to engage in negative health behaviors such as high-risk sexual behavior, substance abuse, and unhealthy lifestyle choices. Domestic violence is a serious problem that can have lasting, harmful effects on individuals, families, and communities. Program faculty will discuss more about these effects and provide insight on how prevention efforts can reduce violence.
