Home Care Infection Control and OSHA Update 2012 for Professional Staff Satellite Conference and Live Webcast

Program faculty will review some of the basic protective procedures both personally and within the home, as well as emphasize proper care for patients with HIV/AIDS or Tuberculosis. Remember, the more precautions you take, the safer and healthier you and your patients will be.

Identify methods of infection control. Identify types, signs and symptoms, and transmissions of Hepatitis A, B, and C. Identify the differences between HIV and AIDS. Identify the key points of HIV infection and transmission, and list ways to reduce the spread. Identify types of HIV testing and distinguish between confidential versus anonymous testing. Identify between Latent TB Infection and Active TB Disease, their preventive treatments, and how to reduce their spread. Identify who is responsible for reporting confirmed and suspected cases of TB.
