Nexus Music Showcase 10:00am - 4:00pm, Sep 23 Tent The Nexus Earth Music Contest is a 24 hour contest which celebrates several qualities of the decentralized economy and cryptocurrency and blockchain applications. Nexus unique approach to blockchain technologies has inspired a creative community which is growing to support these ideals. In order to demonstrate several qualities of decentralization, and their benefit to the music industry, and artists in general, we are hosting a Nexus Songwriting Contest which will take place on Saturday during the Nexus Earth Conference. Participants will write an original song which features some reference to Nexus, blockchain, cryptocurrency, the decentralized economy, or even more general topics relating to economics, and the evolution of our financial and market making systems. Think Revolution Songs, think Dylan’s Masters of War, or Pink Floyd’s The Wall. Participants will submit their songs to the designated contest website page, and will provide their wallet address as a form of registration (this can be done with assistance during the workshop/hackathon or via email support). Conference attendees can vote for their favorite song via a simple online voting page. The song which receives the most votes will win x $’s and/or Nexus tokens. 2 Wildcard categories will provide additional opportunities for those less inclined to write a complete song on their own. Wildcard #1 will be a Hurricane Relief Fund SongParticipants will submit either an original or a cover song, and will put the song up for sale using the Nexus token as the means of payment. 100% of the proceeds of the sales of these songs will go to a tbd charity supporting relief efforts for the hurricanes in Texas and Florida. Nexus will match the winning amount and will also reward the winner. This wildcard will continue with a second round of submissions and voting to take place a few weeks after the Nexus Conference. Wildcard #2 is a Dj Remix opportunity. Participants can just upload stems or cool parts they have produced, awesome beats, a cool riff, and this wildcard option will be for participants to remix the various stems into a song, and upload the song for a chance to win. This wildcard will continue with a second round of submissions and voting to take place a few weeks after the Nexus Conference.
