WHAT IS CONNECT AND DISCOVER? Connect and Discover is a new partnership between Morley College, voluntary organisations and NHS services. Together we have designed FREE short courses and support groups to help increase your confidence and support your mental health through learning for wellbeing.

EXERCISE, HEALTH, BEAUTY AND MORE AT MORLEY From November | Free Courses will include Yoga and Meditation, Craft, Nutrition, Creative Writing, Pilates, Philosophy, Make Up, Alexander Technique, African Dance and more.

WELLBEING COURSES WITH SLAM RECOVERY COLLEGE Free | Book in advance These workshops and short courses help provide you with the tools to become an expert in your own recovery and get the same opportunities in life as everyone else.

MIND PEER SUPPORT GROUPS Free | Drop in Our support groups provide a safe, open and supportive space where you can share your experience of attending a college course whilst managing mental health difficulties.

DRAGON CAFÉ @ Morley Free | Drop in | Refectory Join us for a cuppa, cake and activities including painting and creative arts, music and more. Everyone helping to run the café has experienced mental illness and knows you do not have to be an artist to get involved in art.

ART WORKSHOPS WITH COOLTAN ARTS Free | Book in advance Learn how to use different media to create your own art work. You will have the opportunity to develop your own style and to exhibit finished work if you wish.

Understanding Depression (with SLAM Recovery College) A safe, comfortable environment to explore the facts about depression, how it’s diagnosed and how it feels.

Wednesday 4 Nov 13:00-16:00

Kundalini Yoga and Meditation (short course) Develop an understanding of Kundalini Yoga and how it can help you better manage stress, anxiety and depression. *Our tutor speaks English and Spanish.

Friday 6 Nov - 11 Dec (except 27 Nov) 11:00-13:00

Craft (short course) Make simple pom poms, felt brooches and small coasters. *Arabic speaking tutor

Wednesday 11 - 25 Nov 10:00-12:00

Understanding Depression and Anxiety (short course for Turkish speakers) Develop a better understanding of anxiety and depression, practise breathing techniques and become less isolated.

How to get a good night’s sleep (with SLAM Recovery College) A workshop which helps you to understand the nature of sleep and find some ways of dealing with sleep problems

Understanding Psychosis (with SLAM Recovery College) A workshop to look at a variety of treatment and self-help options and personal experiences of psychosis.

Wednesday 2 Dec 13:00-16:00

Discovering Recovery (with SLAM Recovery College) An introductory workshop which explores the impact of mental health difficulties on people’s lives and how they can rebuild their lives.

Thursday 3 Dec 10:00-16:00

Understanding Anxiety (with SLAM Recovery College) Explore the facts about anxiety, possible causes and consider how to face it head on.

Friday 4 Dec 10:00-16:00
