Connecting the Dots for Successful Growth in Veterinary Compounding Keri Simerly, CPhT, MBA, Vice President of Compounding Operations, Super Drugs Pharmacies This presentation will give pharmacists, technicians, and marketers a broad understanding regarding marketing and growth in the veterinary segment of a compounding pharmacy practice. It will connect the role of the marketer with the roles of the owners/internal staff to ensure a successful growth strategy. The attendee will leave with practical knowledge of ways to grow and sustain veterinary compounding, using traditional and new creative methods. As veterinary compounding marketing and sales differ greatly from traditional compound marketing, this presentation will help to connect the dots using visual aids, to-do lists, cheat sheets, and marketing collateral leading to overall better business practices. After this presentation, pharmacists and technicians will be able to: • Define the importance of internal operations /education as they relate to sales growth • Describe creative ways to establish growth in veterinary compounding practice • Develop customized materials to establish growth in veterinary compounding practice

Keri Simerly, CPhT, MBA, Vice President of Compounding Operations, Super Drugs Pharmacies Keri Simerly, CPhT, MBA is Vice President of Compounding Operations for Super Drugs Pharmacies, located in North Mississippi and Central Arkansas. Keri received her Bachelor in Business Administration (Marketing) degree from East Tennessee State University in 2006 and her Masters in Business from Milligan College in 2013. Keri has been a Certified Pharmacy Technician for 13 years and has served many roles in the pharmacy industry during that time. She very quickly developed a passion for compounding, particularly veterinary therapy. She has been extensively trained in sterile and non-sterile compounding (USP and ), quality assurance/control, calculations, regulatory issues, marketing, and leadership. She is experienced in PCAB and ACHC Accreditation, has served as a consultant for compounding and retail pharmacies, and recently launched a new home infusion division. Keri has several years’ experience in training pharmacy technicians and staff, provider education, and speaking engagements in the compounding industry. She was chosen as PCCA Technician of the Month in April 2012 and regularly attends various continuing education events. She has worked with pharmacists, physicians, veterinarians, and universities to develop new compound formulations, stability studies, and training/education.

The Veterinary Compounding Conference has been approved for 11 contact hours (1.1 CEUs) of continuing education credit. Attendees will be requested to provide their NABP e-Profile ID and birth date (MMDD) to receive credit for any ACPE-accredited CPE continuing education session and complete an evaluation form for each CE session. All sessions carrying the ACPE program number are approved for continuing education credit. The American College of Apothecaries, Inc. is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.
