Enter Confined Space ECS APPLIED SAFETY AS

ERGT’s Enter Confined Space (ECS) course develops capability in identifying confined spaces and their hazards, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and permit systems, preparation for entry, gas detection and ventilation equipment, selection, use and maintainance of height safety and respiratory protective equipment and demonstration of basic emergency preparedness. The course is designed for personnel who are required to enter confined spaces as part of their usual work routine. It also develops competence in the roles of Permit Holder and Stand-by Person. Under relevant legislation and AS2865 (or its authorised update or replacement) it is expected that all persons entering a confined space, and the standby person, will be competent to enter confined space. PRE-REQUISITES MSMPER200 Work in Accordance with an Issue Permit (delivered as part of the course on Day 1)

STRUCTURE & ASSESSMENT This course is given through classroom presentations, activities and participant discussion as well as practical components within a simulated workplace environment using specialised equipment. Trainees will demonstrate their competence through direct observation, oral &/or written assessment & practical exercises.

SKILLS MAINTENANCE In alignment with industry expectations and to ensure ongoing competence and capability ERGT recommends skills maintenance be conducted every 2 years.

CERTIFICATION Upon successful completion trainees will be issued with a Statement of Attainment in: - MSMPER205 Enter Confined Space (Assess confined space for entry, use safety equipment and PPE, control confined space entry, conclude confined space operations)
