Before going freelance, she was the UK Director of Studies of a large multi-centre school for four years. She now works as a teacher, a trainer and a consultant for various schools and projects. Lesson and course planning to keep young learners focused and interested Managing the learning process in young learner classes Engaging YLs’ creativity and enthusiasm Motivation techniques needed to control large groups and individuals Dealing with challenging behaviour and creating a cooperative atmosphere

Upon successful completion of the course, trainees will receive a Certificate in Teaching Young Learners and a detailed course report and reference.

This is an input-based course led by experienced teacher trainers. The course is intensive and designed to give you the best possible grounding in YL teaching within the time available as well as helping you to develop your reflective skills and planning abilities. We will expect trainees to be active participants in input sessions, as on your initial teacher-training course, e.g. CELTA. There will be a select amount of reading to bridge the gap between course weekends, and a take-away exam paper. This take-away will extend the value you get from the weekend, add rigour to your reflections, and consolidate your learning from the first weekend – creating something personal for you to build on leading into the final weekend.
