The East Peak LEADER programme can offer grants for projects which meet one or more of the priorities listed below. There is a strong emphasis on economic growth and job creation in the programme therefore all projects must directly support the rural economy or contribute significantly to improving the local economy. · Support for increasing farm productivity · Support for micro and small businesses (non-agricultural) and farm diversification · Support for rural tourism · Support for culture and heritage activities · Provision of rural services · Support for increasing forestry productivity

Grants for Culture & Heritage activity Grants are available for: ·

Promotion, enhancement and maintenance of cultural heritage assets and events where this promotes growth in the tourism economy, creates a sense of local identity and helps protect cultural heritage features against damage and degradation

Minimum grant available £5,000, maximum grant available usually £40,000 at up to 100% of the total eligible costs. For further information see www.epip.org.uk or email [email protected]

Types of businesses could include:

Ineligible costs:

· Landowners

In addition to the standard list of ineligible costs (which can be found in the LEADER Applicant Handbook, available to download at http://www.epip.org.uk/other/downloads.php) the following are also not eligible under this priority:

· Rural community groups · Local authorities (in exceptional circumstances and above

statutory requirements)

Costs could include:

·

Computers, software and printers used for the general running of the business

·

Landscaping, unless it is part of ‘making good’

·

Statutory requirements e.g. disabled access

·

Access to broadband

· Conservation of small scale built heritage

·

Salaries associated with the ongoing running of projects

· Costs to enhance cultural and community activities and

·

Project to meet statutory requirements e.g. disabled access

· Construction or restoration of buildings or other physical assets

including general costs such as architects and engineers fees · Costs to enhance, restore and upgrade the cultural and natural

heritage of villages and rural landscapes and high nature value sites

investments to enhance venues providing cultural and heritage activity · Costs of events linked to cultural activity · General costs linked to facilitating investments such as architects,

engineer, consultation (up to 15% of total eligible costs)
