CURUFC (Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club) The Club is reviewing the Strength and Conditioning provision it makes to meet the needs of its players, both men and women. This review is a continuing activity as the Club seeks to make the best possible provision within the limitations of its financial resources. The purpose of the tender is to appoint experienced suppliers who will add to our existing support staff. The Club has a range of teams and coaching provision. The senior squads of women and men – often referred to as the Blues in recognition that they will have played or will play against Oxford University – are supported by 3 additional teams. There is also an Academy, which caters for a small number of players who have clear potential. The profile we meet is varied, ranging from students who may be on the boundary of being an elite level athlete to those who are relatively new to the game. To meet their needs we do have our ideas but overall we require a creative and innovative approach to meet this diversity and encourage participants to have an exciting and rewarding experience. It will be in support of the existing provision for the men’s senior squad. Tenders are invited from suitably qualified organisations to provide the outline programme listed below for the 2017-18 season and potentially for a 3-year period. Responsibility – providing the outline duties as listed below under the overall supervision of the Head of Performance and Chair of Playing for the players involved in the Men’s Development/ Academy and Women’s senior squad Outline This will be varied but consist of: • Induction and teaching techniques • Assessment and initial individual programs • Availability during week to supervise sessions (and undertake above) • Encouragement to attend regular sessions • Testing at appropriate intervals and adjusting program • Report on progress through appropriate channels • If necessary support players in return-to-play programs in the case of injury • Manage a Women’s group fitness session at the Sports Centre in term time.
