CVCC Family and Friends, Here we are at the end of summer, which brings the beginning of fall semester and a new academic year. This summer, we’ve celebrated our GED students, trained new student leaders at Student Leadership Institute and Ambassador Training, and our Foundation has been quite active. The Foundation received a $5,000 donation from Winn-Dixie for scholarships, $2,000 from Phenix City Exchange Club for scholarships, and a $5,000 grant from Phenix City to update science labs. The work that the Foundation does is important and benefits the students in a variety of ways. The Foundation is also gearing up for their next two big events. The Track or Treat: Chris Patterson Memorial 5k is in the planning phase, with a date set for October 29. Hall of Fame nominations are open for all three categories, with the event date set for March 2017. Please support both of these Foundation events. Our professional development and fall kickoff will take place next week. I am excited to hear from Dr. Larry Little of The Eagle Center for Leadership. We will recap our accomplishments, give updates, and celebrate those of you receiving special honors. Our focus is on CVCC and I can’t wait to see where the new academic year takes us. Please continue your outstanding work that serves our students and the community. Sincerely,

Mark Ellard Mark D. Ellard CVCC Interim President
