CSIT is the UK’s Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC) for cyber security based at Queen’s University Belfast. CSIT’s research groups develop novel technologies for key areas including: device authentication for IoT security, secure ubiquitous networking, security analytics and autonomous sensor security. IBM Q1 Labs’ advanced analytics capability automatically detects and flags action that deviate from policies and typical behaviour. With over 1,800 customers globally, IBM Q1 Labs’ European HQ is in Belfast.

Anomali provides a Threat Intelligence Platform known as ThreatStream, which helps organisations find and respond to cyber threats - turning threat intelligence into a cyber “no-fly list”, and seamlessly integrating this with internal security and IT systems. Anomali’s Belfast operations will employ 120 people, supporting growth in Europe and North America.

RepKnight provides real-time data discovery and intelligence gathering by capturing data from the widest range of open source, social media, and darkweb traffic, in multiple languages. The software was developed working closely with UK national intelligence analysts. In the commercial sector, RepKnight’s solution helps organisations to quickly identify data leaks, malicious insiders or hacktivists, and gain time-critical competitive intelligence.

The California-based security-asa-service company provides cloudbased solutions for threat protection, compliance, archiving & governance, and secure communications to over 3,000 organisations globally including 50% of the Fortune 500. Following its acquisition of Belfast start-up MailDistiller, Proofpoint is adding 90 new jobs to its Belfast R&D and Operations Centre for Proofpoint Essentials, supporting the company’s customer base in EMEA.

The California-based web security specialist is a leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Security Testing, combining technology with the expertise of its world leading Threat Research Centre (TRC) team. WhiteHat Security’s Belfast TRC will employ 80 people including 50 security engineers, supporting growth in Europe and beyond.

Boston-based Rapid7 provides vulnerability management, compliance and penetration testing solutions for web application, network and database security. Its customers include over 37% of the top 1,000 global organisations. The 75-person development centre opened in Belfast in 2014 to design, build, test and release both on-premise software and cloud-based services.
