San Diego Deputy DA Named Prosecutor of the Year by Statewide Officers’ Association DDA Tia Quick is the Law Enforcement Liaison to SDPD The San Diego County District Attorney’s Office announced today that Deputy District Attorney Tia Quick has been named statewide “Prosecutor of the Year” by the California Narcotics Officers’ Association (CNOA). DDA Quick was honored last weekend at the 52nd Annual Training Institute and Law Enforcement Exposition in San Diego. The award was established to identify, recognize, and honor prosecutors throughout California who are committed to the strong enforcement of narcotic laws. “Deputy DA Quick is well-deserving of this statewide honor,” DA Dumanis said. “Her work as a liaison to law enforcement is a critical component of the criminal justice system that assists police officers as they investigate and ultimately strengthens our cases.” DDA Quick has been a prosecutor with the DA’s Office for more than 24 years and has served in the Gangs Unit, Superior Court, Major Narcotics and most recently as the Law Enforcement Liaison to SDPD, where her work has included reviewing well over 10,000 search warrants. Liaisons work closely with law enforcement and assist with investigations by providing critical support in assuring evidence is collected lawfully so it can be introduced in court by the prosecutors. They help police with drafting legal documents such as search warrants, arrest warrants, and other court orders. The DA liaisons are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day, to answer legal questions. She has also been a member of CNOA since 1994, where she has provided instruction and training for law enforcement for the last 13 years. “The organization is important to me because of its unwavering support of law enforcement and their effort to combat the violence and devastation that drugs have on our society,” Quick said. “To be recognized by such an amazing organization is the high point of my career. There are no words to express how grateful and honored I feel having received this award.” ###
