Data Coordinator, Washington DC Urban Teachers (formerly Urban Teacher Center) is seeking a candidate for its Washington, DC program to assist the Executive Director in meeting organizational goals in the areas of resident and teacher performance and retention, as well as in school and district satisfaction. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The DC Data Coordinator will serve as the liaison between the DC Team and the Performance and Evaluation Team of Urban Teachers. The Data Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Executive Director in meeting organizational goals in the areas of resident and teacher performance and retention, as well as in school and district satisfaction. The Data Coordinator will work as part of a small team consisting of an Executive Director, Assistant Director(s), Resident Experience Coordinator, Director of Clinical Faculty and Operations Coordinator and will team closely with the Director of Performance and Evaluation.



Data collection and administration ● Maintain all site-based data in electronic databases; monitor record keeping procedures for accuracy, including a quarterly audit of participant data ● Manage the student assessment process of first- and second-year teachers, including hiring, training and supporting contractual test monitors ● Partner with Urban Teachers’ Director of Performance and Evaluation and program staff to collect data from the field in support of three accountability gates: clinical performance, 722 I Street · Washington, DC · 20003 · 202-544-4022 www.urbanteachers.org

professionalism, and student achievement gains Assist in the development, administration, and collection of surveys, forms, and questionnaires, ensuring 90% completion rates Manage participant termination and resignation protocols Manage, maintain and verify all cohort information for current, new and prospective participants



Data and policy analysis ● Verify data quality to ensure accurate analysis and reporting ● Analyze and interpret data sets from multiple sources and make findings relevant to district and state-level stakeholders ● Assist with DC-site tasks related to Urban Teachers’ accreditation with the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), including participation in state-sponsored meetings ● Support Urban Teachers’ Development Team with its outreach to funders, advocacy organizations, and policymakers through data reporting on teacher placement



Certification ● Manage the state credentialing process for residents and fellows (Year 1 and Year 3 of the program) ● Maintain data tracking tools to confirm that teachers submit proper documentation in compliance with OSSE ● Collaborate with the school district certification team to ensure proper licensure



School-based implementation and relationships ● Partner with Executive Director, Assistant Director, and Urban Teachers’ program team to ensure explicit expectations of all residents and teachers through regular data communication ● Develop quality communication mechanisms to ensure that school staff are fully aware and supportive of resident expectations; anticipate and address field-based issues with a high degree of clarity, responsiveness, and follow-through



Cohort quality and relationships ● Provide regular opportunities for residents and teachers to come together as an Urban Teachers community in support of the organizational vision ● Ensure 100% responsiveness and positive ratings for data implementation ● Provide support with Summer Institute planning and implementation as needed



Support resident recruitment, selection, and onboarding ● Provide support to the DC Team and Chief Growth Officer in resident recruitment efforts ● Participate fully in digital and final interviews and career fairs ● Partner with the DC Resident Experience Coordinator to ensure a smooth transition to the region for residents



The Data Coordinator will perform other duties as assigned in a continuous improvement environment, with constant analysis of what’s working, what’s not, and how to improve our efforts.

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of school-related experience, preferably in a high-need setting Proven ability to set and meet high goal targets Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Attention to detail Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
