At Nara・Todaiji Temple,”Shunie” is being held every year for the last 1205years. Especially on 12th March, a special event called ”Omizutori” is being held and they use special type of ‘Taimatsu’ which is “Kagotaimatsu”. With this tour , you can watch and enjoy this special event on this special day.
Date : 12 March 2017 (Wed) Besides Todaiji Temple, “Shunie” is being held at other temple too, however “Shunie” of Todaiji Temple is the biggest “Shunie” held in Japan. The deepest meaning of this event is to allow people to repent. They light up the Otaimatsu, and people believe that if they are exposed to the Otaimatsu’s sparks, they will spend a year without bad luck and illness.
“Jonangu” is a shrine with a 1,200 years old of history. There are more than 100 types of camellia and Ume tree planted in the garden. You can feel retirement of Heian period while being surrounded by those beautiful plants. During the old days, people did flower-viewing for Ume-blossoms instead of cherry blossoms.
