2. Review of action points of previous meeting

3. Situation update-UNHCR

Iraqis Refugees

   

Total Iraqi refugees registered with UNHCR is 60,441 till mid of Nov 700-800 individuals newly registered on monthly basis Total registered this year is 9,695 8,081 arrived in 2016 and the rest were in Jordan before 2016 but approached UNHCR to be registered in 2016

 

Total Yemenis refugees registered with UNHCR is 5,128 till mid of Nov 200 refugees were registered last month

Sudanese Refugees



Total Sudanese refugees registered with UNHCR is 3,241 with 120 refugees registered last month

Somali Refugees

 

Total Somalis refugees registered with UNHCR is 764 Other nationalities 1,382

Syrian Refugees



Total Syrian refugees registered with UNHCR was decreased and the total registered now is 654,724 till mid of Nov (no increase noticed in camps as the borders are closed since Jun) 50,650 newly registered in 2106. Arrival in 2016 is 38,899 Population in Zaatari camp is stable under 79,345 (Decreased by 500) Azraq camp have total population of 53,892 with 300 cases decrease due to the voluntary repatriation and deaths in addition to RST to third country Total population in EJC 7,418 The transfer from CC to KAP completed.

Urban Verification

Border Situation

   

Up to end of October, the total refugees who have issued MOI cards are 398,504. 72% of urban refugees registered with UNHCR issued the new MOI cards (till end of Sep) 83% of confiscated documents were returned to the refugees. Document return process is in stage 41 and will be finalized within the coming weeks.



There has been communications from JAF that they require some additional security consideration to be included at the berm in order for the distribution to go ahead. Additionally, there have been some security incidents in the berm over the past two weeks which included the targeting of the leader of the Tribal Army who sustained an injury. Construction of the distribution area was complete by UNHCR. Within next two weeks, clinics may be ready to be operated, subjected for JAF approvals Water supply is continued through water trucks for both Hadalat and Rugban. Water boreholes in Hadalat is almost completed, and the pumping system is expected to be done by end of this year. For Rugban the establishing of water pumping system may takes around 3-4 months. Food distribution already started in 22Nov, and the plan is to be done of distribution by the next two weeks by WFP and non-food items by UNHCR. 6 medical cases were evacuated in November from Rugban and Hadalat, one case of normal vaginal delivery and five cases of injury were evacuated to Jordan side.

JRP2017-2019: Jordan Response Plan (JRP) is a tool to provide protection and emergency humanitarian response to Syrian refugees and to strengthen the resilience of the affected Jordanian people, communities and institutions. 3RP2017-2018: Regional Refugee and Resilience Plan (3RP): responds to the humanitarian, protection and assistance needs of refugees from Syria and other impacted persons, communities and institutions in the five hosting countries of Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt

5. Health Agency Updates

WHO

      

WHO has a baby warmer to be donated at the Azraq camp One ambulance to be donated by WHO either to IMC or UNFPA 4 Containers available for donations, RMS requested some. Training on surveillance system for MoH & RMS and by end of this year to cover all Jordan, next phase to include private clinics and JUH hospitals Polio laborites were upgraded with equipment for the MOH Equipment were donated to Ruwaished hospital (The list is with WHO) There are plan to support Flu lab with equipment.

Reopened Pediatric Ward in Azraq IMC hospital in November 22 , which is a hospital supported by multiple agencies (UNHCR, UNFPA and now UNICEF) Two Comprehensive PHC clinics in Azraq village 2 and 5 will be supported by UNICEF with pediatrian by the 1st week of December with joint support from UNICEF and UNHCR. Border IYCF+ MCH service had started providing services every day in Rukban starting 23 November 28 UNICEF is supporting MOH in conducting costing study from January for 6months

  

IMC operated pediatric in Azraq hospital on the 22nd Nov The operation was started in October 239 pediatric cases were handled

The report on state of world population will be launched on the 1st Nov at Landmark hotel-Amman Training on Family planning and Implanon was postponed after the 15th Dec. (To be confirmed later) UNFPA is coordinating with MoH to train doctors working with all NGOs and who are providing FP services regarding insertion of IUCDs, the targeted number of this training will be confirmed later on. Last week, Dr. Faeza represented UNFPA in a regional workshop in Tunis, it was about Family planning best practice evidence based and lots of issues were raised and the documents to be shared with all partners. “The quality of care check list” document will be circulated and launched by the end of this month. Procurement process launched for bringing hospital for maternal unit (Normal vaginal & caesarian section) to support Berm response.

IOCC recently received MOPIC approval for a new project on health and nutrition for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians. IOCC is focusing on raising awareness in Amman, Mafraq, Irbid, and Zarqa on malnutrition, IYCF, anemia, and other related topics. IOCC will be holding sessions for women, men, and adolescents in these four areas. In addition, IOCC will be building the capacity of a health clinic in East Amman in screening, referral, and raising awareness about malnutrition. Additionally, at this center, IOCC is forming mother-to-mother support groups to build a peer network for pregnant women and new mothers, which will include meetings at the center and home visit follow-up. IOCC is targeting 4,000 beneficiaries through this project. IOCC is coordinating with various sub-working groups/task forces, including Nutrition, Community Health, and Reproductive Health.

We are in the process of planning 8 workshops with MoH (nurses/midwives/nutritionists) in the south governorates during December and January.  Amman  Karak  Maan  Tafilah  Aqaba  Der Ala  Alsafi  Alshekh Hussien.  UNCHR to share the invitation of UNFPA "The State of the World Population Report 2016" with all partners.

Action Points

RH core messages are completed, waiting for the logos in order to be shared with all partners. The group in RH working group is involving more on the sexual RH, the male involvement was included in the monthly RH meetings. Planning to do the early marriage study and assessments in cooperation with HPC and MoH

Psychosocial meeting was held last month and focusing on developing advocacy paper work to be presented to the working group and shared with protection and health groups and to be translated into Arabic to be guiding document for any new projects. Feedback is requested from all partners in order to update the advocacy paper before being shared with all partners

Nutrition working group meeting was held last Tuesday UNHCR & SCJ jointly presented the results of Nutrition Survey The recommendations are being finalized and to be sent to MoH for approval Once the report is approved by MoH to be shared with all partners Nutrition data tracking system, a company will design and build a data management and monitoring system to track the nutrition status at the borders, transit centers and Azraq camp.  IMC to share the advocacy paper by the next meeting  SCJ to share the recommendations of Nutrition Survey with all partners

8. Proposed Assessments/Research

Action Points

UNICEF is supporting MoH for conducting a study that will take place during the coming 6 months which focus on the type pf medical services provided for children and elderly, in addition to women & men from different age group. WHO: three studies were requested by MOH, first study: Refugees access to national system in Jordan, second is the cost of refugee services in Jordan, third is the distribution of services providers for refugee in Jordan. UNHCR: updates regarding the annual health access and utilization survey, the data collection is taking place now by a company, and the survey is done for Syrian, Iraqis & non Syrian – no Iraqi, the data collection expected to be done with the next three weeks. The final report will be ready by January CVT will release new advocacy paper Enforced Disappearances: Ambiguity Haunts the Families of Iraq's Missing, CVT has extended rehabilitative care to Iraqi victims of war trauma and torture in Jordan  CVT to share their advocacy paper once it’s finalized 1 0
