DAVID S. CAMPBELL David S. Campbell was appointed to the Charter Review Task Force by Councilor Trudy Jones. He is an attorney with the Albuquerque firm of Vogel, Campbell & Blueher. He is a graduate of Highland High School in Albuquerque and Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in Washington, DC. Mr. Campbell holds a masters’ degree in public administration and a law degree from the University of New Mexico. Mr. Campbell served as the City Attorney of the City of Albuquerque from 1989 to 1993. He also was an assistant to the late Albuquerque Mayor Harry Kinney from 1981 to 1983. His law practice involves administrative law, governmental regulation, land use, zoning, and real estate. He has been extensively involved in civic affairs in New Mexico: He chaired the Good Government Group from 1986 to 1992; led the campaign to keep the “505" area code in Albuquerque/Santa Fe; and has chaired numerous government reform efforts, including the effort to combine City and County governments in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. Campbell chaired the most recent City Charter Review Task Force in 1999. He is the Chair of the UNM School of Public Administration Advisory Board, and is a member of the governing boards of the Economic Forum, United Way of Central New Mexico, Junior Achievement, Golden Apple Foundation, and the Disciplinary Board of the NM Supreme Court.
