Dear Big Yellow Bus Riders, The Prosser School District Transportation Department is looking forward to transporting your students again this year. List below are the current routes that we have available for this year. Due to the nature of our business, we need your assistance with transporting your children. Listed below are some important issues that we deal with each year: /
Students need to be at the bus stop a minimum of five (5) minutes before the bus is due to arrive. This helps the bus driver keep their schedule and makes it so no other students are waiting longer than necessary. Each driver has a schedule that they are to meet each day, so your help with having your students ready and waiting for the school bus is greatly appreciated.

After school, the drivers need to know that you are home to accept your students, so please be available for the driver to see you when your student gets off the school bus.

Unfortunately, we do experience bus breakdowns. If your bus has not arrived on it’s scheduled time or five (5) minutes later, you are welcome to call the Transportation Dept at 786-2630 to find out what the delay time is.

During inclement weather, the bus drivers travel at the rate of speed they feel is safe to transport your children, so there may be times that in bad weather (i.e., heavy rains, snow, freezing rain, winds, etc.) they fall behind schedule. Again you are welcome to contact the Transportation Department, or otherwise normally they will be there as soon as possible.

Route 1 Horse Heaven Area First pickup is at 6:37 a.m. This route starts at the corner of Columbia Ridge Road and Sonova Road, then travels west on Sonova Road to Booster Pump Rd, does turnaround and returns to Alderdale Road, turning right (north), then turns right (east and then north) on McKinley Springs Road, then turns right (east) on Farnum Road, turns left (north) Lincoln Road, continuing past Sellards intersection, turn right (east) onto Williamson, turn left (north) onto Bert James, turn left (north) onto SR-221 and continue to schools. First pickup is at 6:55 a.m. Route 2 Starts at McCreadie Road, east of Pioneer Road, then left (north) on Rothrock Road, turns right (east) on Hanks Road, turns left (north) on Alder Road, do turn around and go back to Hanks Road, turn right (north) on Rothrock Road, turn right (east) on Evans Road, do turn around at dead end, go back (west) on Evans Road across Rothrock Road, turn left (south) on McDonald Road, turn left (east) on Hanks Road, turn left (north) on Rothrock Road, turn right (east) on Snipes Road, do turnaround at dead end and go back on Snipes Road, across Rothrock Road, take left (south) in McDonald Road, take right (west) on Kuhlman Road, take left (south) on Crosby Road, take right (west) on Hanks Road, traveling west to Hinzerling Road, turn left (south) on Hinzerling Road, picking up student along Hinzerling Road from Snipes Road to Shelby Road, then on into schools. Route 3 First pickup is at 7:10 a.m. This route starts out on Hansen Road, picking up one stop, turn left on Gibbon Road, and turn right onto freeway. Take first Prosser exit, Wine Country Road, turn right onto Wine Country Road, turn right Wittkopf Loop Road, continue around to the Port District on Lee Road, go to end and turnaround, and continue back to Wine Country Road. The bus then turns left onto SR-22, right on Paterson Road to High School. Continues onto 7th Street to Bennett, traveling west. This route travels west on Bennett to Richards Road, taking left (east) to SR-22. Turns right (south) on Market Street into Painted Hills and stops at Burgundy Place and Market Street; Concord Way and Rohman Drive; Rosa Vista Drive and Scenic Drive; Scenic Drive and Scenic Court; Semillion Place and Concord Way then turns right (east) onto SR-22 and stops at 1301 SR-22, turns left (west) onto Paterson, continue to High School for second drop off, turn right on Memorial, then left on Sommers then left Paterson then continue on Paterson, turn left (north) onto Alexander Court, then proceed to Housel Middle School and picks up Keene Riverview student at HMS, then continues to remaining schools. Route 4 Horse Heaven Area First pickup is at 6:50 a.m. This route starts on the corner of Cemetery Road and Cloudius Roads, travels east on Cemetery Road to Travis Road. Turn right (south) on Travis Road, making several stops, traveling south of Reese Road before turning around and returning north on Travis Road, turn left (west) on Sellards Road. Crosses over SR-221 and continues on Sellards to Davis, turn right, does turnaround at farm, turns left onto Sellards, turn right (south) onto SR-221 to Dowd Road, turn right (west) goes to into Dowd, does turn around, and turns to corner of Dowd Road and SR-221, picks up Paterson Transfer then turns left (north then west) on SR-221, turns right (north) on Perrault Rd, does turnaround at farm, returns to SR-221, turns right (west) and returns to Prosser on Hwy 221.
Route 5 First pickup is at 7:00 a.m. This route starts at McCreadie Road, west of North Gap Road, turns right (north) onto North Wilgus Road, right (east) onto Hanks Road, continues on Hanks Road to McDonald Road, and turns left (north), turns left (west) on Evans Road, turns left (south) on North Gap Road, continues to Johnson Road, turning left (east), turns right (south) on Wamba Road, continues into Shelby Road, then right (south) onto OIE Hwy to schools. First pick up is at 7:18 a.m. Route 6 This route starts at the corner of Nunn Road and South Nunn Road, traveling south to North River Road then North River Road turns right (west), then turn right (north) onto South Wilgus Road, picking up students, turning right (east) onto Buena Vista Road and picking up student from South Missimer Road, finishing on North River and Wine Country Road, then continuing to schools. Route 7 First pick up is at 7:07 a.m. This route starts at Webb Road, north of North River Road, turns left (west) on Buena Vista Road, left (south) on Steele Road, right (west) on North River Road, right (north) on South Missimer Road, crossing OIE Hwy, road name changes to North Missimer. Turn left (west) to Atwood Road, right (north) on North Wilgus Road. Turn right (east) on Johnson Road, right (south) on County Rt. 12. Left (west) on Hoisington Road, to North Missimer Road, right on North Missimer (north), right (east) on Johnson, right (southeast) on County Rt. 12, right (west) on Hoisington, left (south) on North Missimer Road, right (west) on Atwood Road, left (south) on North Wilgus Road, then left (east) onto OIE Hwy. Continue to Albro Road, turning left (north), then turn right (south) onto Wine County Road and continue into town. Route 8 First pick up is at 7:17 a.m. Starts on Byron Road, just east of Richards Road, continues west on Byron Road, turns left (east) on SR-22, then turns right (south) on Ward Gap Road to just past Private Road 215 PRSW, does turn around, continues north to Richards Road, turns right (east) onto Richards Road . Continues through intersection of SR-22, turns right (east) onto Bennett Avenue, picking up students until Larch Street. Route 9 First pick up is at 6:40 a.m. This route starts on Hanks Road, turning right (south) on Case, doing turnaround, heading north on Case, right (east) on Hanks Road, turns left (north) on Case Road, turns left (west) on Snipes Road, turns left (south) on Fisk, turns left (east) on Evans. Then right (south) on Case Road, left (east) on Hanks Road, turn left (north) on District Line, turn left (west) on Evans, turn left (south) on O’Brien Road, turn left (east) on Hanks Road, turn right (south) on District Line Road. Travel south on District Line Road to OIE Hwy. Turn right (west) at OIE Hwy, turn left (south) onto Rattery Road, turn right (north) on Hosko Road, turn left (west) on OIE Hwy where this route continues on into town, making stop all along OIE Hwy, ending at the Hinzerling/Johnson/OIE Intersection. Route 10 First pick up is at 7:10 a.m. This route starts on the corner of Crosby & Evans Road, continues south on Crosby Road, turning right (west) on King Tull Road, left (south) on Hinzerling (no pick ups on Hinzerling), left (east) on Swain Road, continue onto Heck Road, turning west, back to Hinzerling (again no stops on
Hinzerling). Go into town, drops off at High School and then picks up at Claire and Paterson Road, and Nell and Patterson (only Keene Riverview students), then proceeds to schools. First pick up is at 7:10 a.m. Route 11 This route starts on Johnson Road, west of Wilgus Road, turns right (north) on Griffin Road, left (west) on Apricot Road, left (south) on Hicks Road, left (east) on Johnson Road, left (north) on Griffin Road, right (east) Apricot Road, turns left (north) on Bone, turns left (west) on County Rt. 12, turns left (west) on King Tull Road, turns right (north) on Griffin, turns right (southeast) on County Rt 12, turns left (east) on Johnson Road, then goes to schools. Route 12 First pick up is at 7:00 a.m. This route starts on Pioneer Road, north of OIE Hwy, turn left (west) on King Tull Road, right (north) on McDonald Road, proceeds north of McCreadie Road into Hogue Ranches, turns around, turns left (east) on McCreadie Road, right (south) on Pioneer Road, turns right (west) on King Tull Road. Continues on King Tull Road, left (south) on Bunn Road, continues on Bunn Road, past OIE Hwy to canal, turns around, turns right (east) on OIE Hwy (no students picked up on OIE), left (north) on McDonald Road, left (west) on King Tull Road, right (north) on Bunn Road, goes into WSU Experiment Station, turns around, turns right (west) on King Tull Road, left (south) on Heck Road, continuing on Heck Road to Hinzerling (no students picked up on Hinzerling) and continues into schools. Route 13 First pick up is at 6:40 a.m. This route starts on Anderson / Missimer Road, north of Snipes Road, do turn around, continuing back on Missimer to Snipes Road, turning left (west) to Griffin Road, turning into Olsen Road, left on County Line. Turn left (east) onto Snipes Road, turn right (south) on Wilgus Road, do turnaround after 54601 N. Wilgus Road and return to Snipes Road, turn right (east), then turns right (south) on Gap Road, turn right (west) on Evans Road, turn left (south) on Missimer Road, turn right (west) on Evans Road (jog in roadway) go to Wycoff Camp (156602 W Evans Road) and turn around, turn right (south) on Missimer Road, turn right (west) on Hanks Road, right (north) on Wilgus Road, left (west) on Evans Road, left (south) on Griffin Road, left (east) on Hanks Road, right (south) on Wilgus Road, right (west) on McCreadie Road, left (south) on Griffin Road, left (east) on Lemley Road, right (south) on William Road, go around corner and King Tull Road starts. Continue on King Tull Road to Gap Road (no students pickup), turn right (south). Continue on Gap Road, just after freeway overpass, turn on left (east) on Merlot Drive (in front of truck stop), and turn right (south) on Wamba Road back to Wine Country Road. Continue to schools. Route 14 First pickup is at 7:10 a.m. This route begins on Wilgus Road, just south of OIE Hwy, turn right (west) on North River Road, turn right (north) on South Griffin Road, continue past OIE Hwy, road becomes North Griffin, turn left (west) on Johnson Road, turn left (south) on Hicks Road, turn right (west) on OIE Hwy, turn left (south) on Lower County Line Road, turn left (east) on North River Road, turn left (north) on South Griffin Road, turn right (east) on OIE Hwy, picking up student until Wilgus Road. Continue to schools Route 15 First pickup is at 7:20 a.m. Starts on Nunn Road (in front of Airport), left (northwest) onto Wine Country Road to the Barn trailer park (550 Wine Country Rd) and Brown’s trailer park (553 Wine Country Road), turns left (south) onto North Gap Road, left (east) on OIE Hwy, right (southeast) on Wine Country Road.
Drops off at High School, Housel Middle and Height Elementary. Picks up Keene Riverview students on Mercer Court and Miller (Alley) and Mercer Court and Alley between Benson & Highland Drive, right (west) on Highland Drive, left on Ford Street onto Parkside Drive, then to Keene Riverview. Route 16 WHITSTRAN ELEMENTARY ROUTE ONLY First pickup is at 6:45 a.m. This route starts on OIE Hwy, east of Beers Road, turns left (north) on Case Road, turns right (east) on Hanks Road, turns left (north) on O’Brien Road, turns right (east) on Evans Road, turns right (south) on District Line Road, turn right (west) on OIE Hwy, turn left (south) on Rattery Road, turn right (north) on Hosko Road, turn left (west) on OIE Hwy, turn right (north) on Case Road, turn left (northwest) on McCreadie Road, turn left (south) on Rothrock Road, turn left (east) on Good Road, turn left (north) on Beers Road to turnaround, turn right (west) on Good Road, turn left (south) on Rothrock Road, turn right (west) on Biggam Road, turns left (south) on Pioneer Road, turns left (east) on Foisy Road to school. Route 17 WHITSTRAN ELEMENTARY ROUTE ONLY First pickup is at 6:55 a.m. This route starts on Hinzerling Road, north of Swain Road, turns right (east) on King Tull Road, traveling past Crosby, turns right (south) on Heck Road, at Heck/Swain intersection, turn left (still on Heck Road), turn right (north) on Hinzerling Road, turn right (east) on Swain Road, turn left on Heck Road, continue to King Tull Road, turn right (east). Turn left (north) on Bunn Road, go into WSU Experiment Station and turn around, turn left (east) on King Tull Road, turn left (north) on McDonald Road, continue north of McCreadie into Hogue Ranches and turnaround. First pick up time depends on students riding bus This special needs route covers the west side of Prosser, from Spokane Street west out to Walker addition. It also services south of County Rt. 12 to North River Road, from Lower Country Line Road to Steele Road. This route depends on the amount of students that need transportation within the Special Needs Program.
Route 20 Tri-Tech Bus Pickup time depends on route This special bus that will make three trips to meet the Benton City Tri-Tech bus, please contact the bus garage to make arrangements, if you are attending Tri-Tech this year. Route 21 Town Only Route First pickup is at 7:20 a.m. This route starts on Sheridan Avenue, turning left on Wine Country, right on 10th Avenue, left on Grant Avenue, left on 9th Street. Continues to Keene Riverview Elementary, picking up Housel Middle School and Whitstran students, turning left on Park, left on Guernsey, right on Yakima, left on 6th Street, stopping at PHS, right on Prosser Avenue, right on 7th, turning into Paterson, left on Alexander Court, right on Highland Drive, dropping off at Housel Middle School. Again this route returns to Keene Riverview to pick up the Prosser Heights students and dropping off Keene Riverview Elementary students and then proceeds to Prosser Heights Elementary. THIS ROUTE WILL BE CHANGING WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF SCHOOL STARTING, PROPERLY NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE HANDED OUT.
Town Only Route First pickup is at 7:30 a.m. Route 22 This route starts on Walker Place, west of Larch Street. Continues around block, turning left on Spruce Avenue, left on Larch Street, turn right on Bennett Avenue, making two stops : between Hemlock Street and Gum Street; then between Fir Street and Elm Street. Continues on Bennett to 6th Street, turn left. Turn left on Sheridan Avenue (behind ConAgra Foods), turn right on 4th Street, turn right on Sherman Avenue, turn left on 5th Street, turn right on Grant Avenue. Continue to schools. This bus does not carry High School Students. Route 23 Town Only Route First pick up time is 7:30 a.m. This route starts on Highland Drive, right on Hwy 22, left on Hwy 221, left on Sales Yards Road, does turnaround, stops at Sales Yard and Higdon Road. Continues back to SR-221, continues across SR-22 onto Paterson Road, road changes to 7th Street. Stops at High School to drops off High School students. Continues down 7th Street, right on Dudley, left on 8th Street, crosses Market, left on Bennett Avenue to 6th, turning right. At stop light, turn left onto Wine Country, then right onto Grant Avenue, picking up between 6th Street to 9th Street on Grant Avenue. After Middle school, pick up Keene Riverview students on Eastgate Drive, and Miller Court. Continue to schools. THIS ROUTE WILL BE CHANGING WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF SCHOOL STARTING, PROPERLY NOTIFICATIONS WILL BE HANDED OUT. Route 24 PM ROUTE ONLY This route begins at Housel Middle School, and then proceeds to Prosser Heights Elementary. Starts dropping off students on Paterson Road, 7th Street, turns left on Prosser Avenue, right on Yakima, left on Brown Street to Keene Riverview Elementary. THIS ROUTE WILL BE DISCONTINUED AFTER TWO WEEKS OF SERVICE INTO THIS SCHOOL YEAR.

Special Needs Route for In-Town Schools
First pick up time depends on students riding bus This is a special needs route that covers the north end of Prosser, from Hinzerling Road west to Griffin Road, from Snipes Road south to County Rt. 12. Also picks up students on Meade Avenue,
Wine Country Road and Sheridan Avenue. This route depends on the amount of students that need transportation within the Special Needs Program. First pickup is at 7:05 a.m. Route 26 This route starts on Johnson Road, west of Gap Road, right (north) Albro Road, do turnaround, right (west) on Missimer Road, continue north above King Tull Road to 24702 Missimer Road, it does a turnaround, left (east) on King Tull Road. At Hinzerling Road, turn right (south) (no pick ups on Hinzerling Road), turn right (west) on Johnson Road, then left on Gap Road, (no pick ups on Gap Road), continue into schools. Route 27 First pickup is at 6:50 a.m. This route starts on King Tull Road, between Crosby Road and Heck Road, turns right (south) on Pioneer Road (no pickups on this road), turn left (east) on Foisy Road, turn left (north) on Rothrock Road, turn right (east) on Good Road, turn left (north) on Beers Road to turnaround, turn left (east) on OIE Hwy, turn left (north) on Case Road, turn left (west) on McCreadie Road, turn left (south) on Rothrock Road, turn left (east) on OIE Hwy, turn right (southwest) on Hess Road, turn left (west) on OIE Hwy. This route continues on N. OIE Hwy, and picks up students south of the freeway overpass to the Grant Avenue Bridge then continues to schools. Route 28
Special Needs Route for In-Town Schools
First pick up time depends on students riding bus This is a special needs route that covers the north end of Prosser, from Hinzerling Road east to District Line Road, plus the south side of the river, including Byron Road, Sales Yard Road and Painted Hills area. This route depends on the amount of students that need transportation within the Special Needs Program.
Shuttle Bus To Whitstran Elementary School, leaves Housel Middle School at 8:00 a.m. This route starts at Housel Middle School, and takes Whitstran students that need a ride from town to Whitstran. This includes all students that do not live in the Whitstran area boundaries that ride in on other school buses into town to catch the shuttle and any in-town students that attend Whitstran Elementary. Current Bus for shuttle in the morning is Route 4/bus 6. In the afternoon, this bus also runs out to Whitstran and picks up any students that need to catch the in-town buses, or any students that are within walking distance from Heights Elementary. Current Bus for afternoon shuttle is Route 21/Bus 21. Falls Alternative School – Mid day run: Travels to pick up students for afternoon classes at the Falls Alternative School. THIS ROUTE WILL NOT PICK UP ON HORSE HEAVEN.
