Dear Parents, Year 8 Roman Chester Visit 29/09/17 The Classics Department is visiting Chester to explore the Roman Empire and its impact on Britain. This trip is scheduled for Friday 29th September for all pupils in Year 8. It is our aim that every girl in Year 8 should attend this trip. The total cost for the trip will be £16. We shall depart from school at 9.00 and return by the end of the school day in time for your daughter to catch the school bus if this is her preferred option. During the visit your daughter will have the opportunity to explore some fascinating material under the tutelage of subject specialists, including genuine ancient artefacts from the Roman period. The highlight of the visit will be a tour of the city with a Roman soldier, visiting the amphitheatre. We shall also have time to explore the galleries in the Grosvenor Museum. All girls are expected to wear their school uniform and demonstrate impeccable behaviour at all times. A packed lunch can be provided. Please indicate if this is required on the slip below. You may also wish for your daughter to have on her person a little pocket money for spending in the souvenir shop (we suggest that this should be only a small amount and should be in coins to avoid an excessive demand on the museum shop staff to provide/find change).
